Beskrivelse

What happened on the Day of Pentecost wasn’t just a moment to remember, it was a moment that changed everything. In this message, we dive into Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 and uncover how God didn’t just give His people a date on a calendar, He gave them POWER they were never meant to live without. From the sound of a rushing wind… to tongues of fire… to ordinary people speaking in supernatural language, this was the birth of the Church as we know it. And it all started with a promise fulfilled. We explore the powerful contrast between the Old Testament Pentecost, when the Law was given on Mount Sinai, and the New Testament Pentecost, where the Spirit was poured out. One brought death. The other brought life.🔥 3,000 died under the Law🔥 3,000 were saved by the SpiritThis message breaks down:• Why the Law reveals but cannot save• How the Holy Spirit brings true life and power• The significance of a restored heavenly language (from Book of Genesis to Book of Zephaniah)• How unity and understanding are tied to the Spirit• The transformation of Peter the Apostle, from fearful failure to bold preacherPeter walked with Jesus for 3 years… and still lacked power. But one encounter with the Holy Spirit changed everything. This isn’t just a history lesson, it’s an invitation. The same Spirit that filled Peter is still available today. The same power that ignited the early Church is still moving. If you’re tired of trying to get life out of something that only exposes death… this message is for you.“Repent, receive, and surrender.” (Acts 2:38–39)➡️ The promise is for you.➡️ The power is available.➡️ The question is—will you receive it?📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Looking Back and Pressing Forward | Acts 7 | Jamie Grisham

Looking Back and Pressing Forward | Acts 7 | The Faithfulness of God Through Every GenerationIn Acts 7, Stephen stands before the religious leaders and delivers one of the most powerful sermons in Scripture. As the early church is growing, miracles are happening, and the gospel is spreading, Stephen takes his listeners on a journey through Israel’s history, not simply to teach history, but to remind them of God's faithfulness.Sometimes we need to be reminded of what God has done so we can continue moving forward in faith. In this message, we look back at the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and the story of the Tabernacle and Temple to see a God who has always been on the move, always faithful to His promises, and always writing a bigger story.🔹 Abraham – Faith to follow when the path is unclear🔹 Joseph – God is with us in both the pit and the palace🔹 Moses – God raises deliverers in dark times🔹 The Tabernacle & Temple – God's presence is not limited to a buildingStephen also gives a sobering warning: God's people often resist God's move. Acts 7:51 reminds us that we can be around the things of God and still resist the voice of God. The challenge is not simply to know the story, but to respond to the Spirit's leading today. In this sermon, we are challenged to:✅ Remember God's faithfulness✅ Repent of areas where we've resisted His leading✅ Receive fresh power from the Holy Spirit✅ Live and witness boldly like Stephen in our generationKey Scriptures:📖 Acts 6:15–7:8📖 Acts 7:51📖 Acts 7:54–60📖 Genesis 50:20📖 Romans 8:28📖 Hebrews 3:7–9No matter what season you're walking through, the same God who called Abraham, sustained Joseph, used Moses, and empowered Stephen is still at work today.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Filled Up | Compassion Church Dickson | Tommy Hodges

What happens when ordinary people become filled with the Holy Spirit? In Acts 6, the early church was growing rapidly. Miracles were happening, lives were being changed, and the Gospel was spreading everywhere. But in the middle of revival, tension arose. Complaints spread. Widows were being overlooked. Division tried to enter the church. The apostles gathered the people together and made a powerful request: they did not ask for celebrities, businessmen, or the most educated people — they asked for men full of the Holy Spirit. This message dives deep into the life of Stephen, a man chosen to serve tables, yet filled with faith, wisdom, humility, and supernatural power. Acts 6 reminds us that no assignment is small when you are filled with the Spirit of God.In this sermon we explore:• Serving with humility• Walking in the power of the Holy Spirit• Speaking with wisdom• Shining in dark places• Living a daily Spirit-filled lifeThe world does not just need talented people. It needs Spirit-filled believers whose worship is real, whose prayers are alive, and whose lives shine brightly in darkness.“What fills you eventually shows on you. And when life squeezes you, what is inside comes out.”Scripture Reference: Acts 6:1–15If this message encouraged you, make sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. A Pure Church is a Powerful Church | Jamie Grisham | Compassion Church

My Story — When God Moves, The Enemy Schemes | Acts 5:1–11Description: The church in Acts 4–5 is in the middle of a powerful move of God—thousands saved, radical generosity, unity, joy, miracles, bold preaching. Then suddenly, Ananias and Sapphira drop dead. It’s shocking—and it confronts our “safe” view of God. In this message, we see a Jesus who is fiercely committed to a pure church and an enemy who loves to work through deception.Key themes:The Holy Spirit is present and personal: “You have not lied to man but to God.” (Acts 5:3–4)When God is moving, the enemy is scheming—often from the inside through compromise and hypocrisy.Admiring sacrifice vs. embracing surrender: the root of hypocrisy is wanting the credit of sacrifice without paying the cost of surrender.Doors that deception opens: love of praise, love of money, and loss of the fear of the Lord. Why Ananias and Sapphira died: Jesus is protecting the purity of His Bride; sin at the foundation is deadly. The fear of the Lord doesn’t push us away from God—it pushes us away from sin.A pure church is a powerful church: after holy fear comes fresh power, signs and wonders, and more believers added (Acts 5:11–42).Scripture references:Acts 4:36–37 (Barnabas’ Spirit-led generosity)Acts 5:1–11 (Ananias and Sapphira)Ephesians 4:27 (Give no opportunity to the devil)1 Corinthians 5:6 (A little leaven leavens the whole lump)Psalm 139:23–24 (Search me, O God)1 John 1:9 (Confess and be cleansed)Takeaways:Jesus won’t build His church on deception.Satan can’t force your sin, but he’ll fuel your self-deception.Purity doesn’t shut down revival; it protects it.Response:Examine: “Search me, O God…” (Psalm 139:23–24)Expose: Confess to God (1 John 1:9)Embrace: Not shame, but grace—and fresh powerChapters: 0:00 Intro: Power and purity in Acts 2:45 Barnabas vs. Ananias and Sapphira 9:30 Deception’s root: praise, money, loss of holy fear 16:20 Why judgment fell and what Jesus is teaching 23:15 Fear of the Lord and revival power 29:00 Response: Examine, expose, embraceIf this message challenged you, share it with someone who’s hungry for a pure move of God. Mothers Day at Compassion | Jamie Grisham

QUEEN FOR A DAY | The Hidden Faith That Changes GenerationsThis Mother’s Day message is a powerful reminder that some of the greatest moves of God begin in places nobody sees. In this sermon, we uncover the story of Queen Abi, a woman barely mentioned in Scripture, yet the mother of one of Judah’s greatest reforming kings, Hezekiah. While her husband, King Ahaz, led the nation into darkness and idolatry, Abi stayed faithful behind the scenes. Her story proves that you don’t have to be famous to be faithful, and you don’t have to be visible to be vital. If you’ve ever felt unnoticed, overlooked, exhausted, or like your prayers aren’t making a difference, this message is for you.🔥 In this sermon, we unpack 3 Keys to a Move of God:• TRUST — Trusting God in a spiritually broken environment• PERSISTENCE — Continuing to sow faith even when you don’t see results• TENACITY — Breaking generational cycles and building a new legacyThrough the life of Queen Abi, we’re reminded:👉 The family you came from doesn’t have to be the family that comes from you.👉 Your greatest legacy is not what you leave TO your children, but what you leave IN your children.👉 God is still using hidden faithfulness to raise up world-changing generations.📖 Scriptures in this message:2 Kings 18:1–72 Chronicles 29:3–5Deuteronomy 6:6–9Galatians 6:9Proverbs 22:6Isaiah 55:10–111 Corinthians 1:26–29No matter your title, your season, or your story — God sees the seeds you’re planting. You may never wear a crown on your head, but you’re shaping the crowns your children will lay at Jesus’ feet. 👑📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W.
