As he often does, Paul greets Philemon with a benediction, "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." The call of the Christian to holiness and obedience is impossible to fulfil in our own strength. It is only with the help that come from above, grace from the Father and the Son, that we can live as we ought.
