Beskrivelse

May 28 Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. - Philippians 3:20 The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. - Titus 2:11-14 According to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. - 2 Peter 3:13-14 Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. - Hebrews 9:28 It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” - Isaiah 25:9 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. June 2

June 2 In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’S Passover. - Exodus 12:11 Arise and go, for this is no place to rest. - Micah 2:10 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. - Hebrews 13:14 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. - Hebrews 4:9 Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. - Luke 12:35-37 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. - 1 Peter 1:13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. - Philippians 3:13-15 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. June 1 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22 The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. - Exodus 34:6 Walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:1,2, 32 The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. - James 3:17 Love is patient and kind. - 1 Corinthans 13:4 Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. - Galatians 6:9 Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. - James 5:7,8 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. May 31 Little children, abide in him. - 1 John 2:28 The one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. - James 1:6-8 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. - Galatians 1:6-8 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? - Galatians 5:4,7 As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. - John 15:4,7 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. - 2 Corinthians 1:20 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. May 30 Whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest. - Hebrews 4:10-11 Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. - Matthew 7:13-14 The kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. - Matthew 11:12 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. - John 6:27 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. - 2 Peter 1:10-11 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. - 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. May 29 The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. - Leviticus 17:11 Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! - John 1:29 They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. - Revelation 7:14 The precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. - 1 Peter 1:19 Under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. - Hebrews 9:22 The blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7 He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. - Hebrews 9:12 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh… let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. - Hebrews 10:19-20, 22 You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. - 1 Corinthians 6:20 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode.
