Find out how to use ashwagandha for better sleep, stress relief, mental clarity, and more! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] 0:00 Introduction: Ashwagandha benefits 1:06 How ashwagandha works 1:48 Ashwagandha review compared to other herbal remedies 3:42 How ashwagandha can lower cortisol naturally 4:03 More health benefits of ashwagandha 5:49 How to take ashwagandha Ashwagandha is a potent adaptogen that helps you adapt to stress. It’s a cortisol modulator, so if your cortisol levels are too high or too low, ashwagandha can help bring them to normal levels. Ashwagandha benefits include the following: •Helps lower cortisol naturally •Supports sleep •Improves exercise endurance •Anti-inflammatory •Boosts testosterone •Protects the brain against stress •Supports hormones, including the thyroid hormone •Anti-cancer properties Siberian ginseng is beneficial for mood and physical endurance but does not compare to ashwagandha’s hormone-balancing effects. Panax ginseng is also helpful for exercise endurance and cognitive function, but ashwagandha is better at dealing with stress-related anxiety, especially when dealing with a chronic problem. Rhodiola is good for stamina and is a natural energy booster, but doesn’t reduce stress or anxiety. Holy basil helps calm the body and improves sleep, but ashwagandha has more benefits. Matcha root improves energy and sexual function, but ashwagandha has these benefits plus more stress-reducing benefits. Reishi mushrooms improve cognitive and immune function and also provide a calming effect, but unlike ashwagandha, they don’t affect cortisol. Ashwagandha has a comprehensive cortisol regulation effect and can help people with chronic cortisol stimulation and the problems associated with it. Ashwagandha is best taken in the evening with your last meal. It’s also beneficial to cycle your ashwagandha use. Try using it for 6 weeks at a time, followed by a 2-week break. --- Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices [https://megaphone.fm/adchoices]

Developing MUSCLES over 50 Years of Age

Did you know that weight loss can sometimes shorten your lifespan? But how can that be? In this video, we’ll talk about muscle mass and longevity and preserving muscle as you age. Not all weight loss is good weight loss! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] 00:00 Introduction: How to prevent muscle loss 0:22 Ozempic for weight loss 1:25 Sarcopenia 1:56 How to avoid age-related muscle loss 3:07 Sleep and muscle recovery 4:47 The muscle reserve 5:23 Other types of muscle loss 5:36 Top anti-aging tips 7:22 The #1 anti-aging secret! Losing weight should help you live longer, but it’s not always that simple. As you age, it’s vital to maintain a healthy amount of lean muscle mass. Ozempic is very popular for weight loss, but trials have shown that it can cause muscle loss, not just fat loss. One study compared the use of Ozempic to a decade or more of aging. Preserving muscle mass is one of the best things you can do for longevity. Your muscles help regulate your blood sugar and support your metabolism. Sarcopenia is the term for age-related muscle loss. When you develop sarcopenia, your risk for diabetes, immune problems, and your mortality rate increases. Exercise is the best thing you can do for your muscles. Protein is the raw material for muscle-building, so it’s essential to ensure you’re getting enough and spreading your intake throughout the day. Grass-fed red meat is the best source of protein. Poor sleep drains muscle mass more than poor diet because muscle recovery occurs when you’re sleeping. In summary, focus on the following as you age: •Increase lean muscle mass •Ensure adequate protein intake •Consume collagen •Increase magnesium glycinate, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, copper, B vitamins, and coenzyme Q10 •Consume iron from red meat L. reuteri is a microbe with many fascinating benefits and has been shown to increase muscle stem cells. It's helped me gain 5 pounds of muscle mass! This description contains affiliate links, which pay commissions at no extra cost to you. Let's talk about the real reason why you lost your butt and gained a belly: high cortisol. Excessive cortisol can break down the quadriceps and the gluteus maximus. Cortisol is a stress hormone and a survival hormone. It tends to keep your sugar levels available for quick energy. It can also rob amino acids from the quadriceps and the gluteus maximus to convert to glucose. The sugar is then converted to fat with the help of insulin. During this process, you can develop muscle atrophy. Muscle atrophy can look very similar to cellulite, but it's really a loss of muscle fiber. Top causes of high cortisol: • Prednisone • Menopause • High stress • A tumor • Birth control pills • Sarcopenia • Inactivity • Low back pain What you can do: 1. Talk to your doctor about a natural alternative to prednisone (adaptogens and vitamin D) 2. Reduce your stress (do physical work or exercise and avoid overtraining) 3. Do the keto diet and intermittent fasting 4. Get plenty of key nutrients (potassium, magnesium, and vitamin B1) 5. Get plenty of sleep 6. episode The #1 Anti-aging Trick cover

The #1 Anti-aging Trick

Are you aging too fast? Too much iron can cause premature aging both inside and outside the body. Find out how to slow down aging and reduce oxidative stress by eliminating excess iron. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] Chapters: 0:00 Introduction: Iron and aging 0:44 Side effects of excess iron 1:40 Too much iron and disease 3:43 What causes iron-deficiency anemia? 5:00 Increasing your antioxidant reserve DATA: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles... People with iron-deficiency anemia often have dysfunctional iron, which means it’s unavailable to the red blood cells. This could be why we are not seeing a decrease in anemia even though we've increased iron in the food supply. Iron overload may increase your risk for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease, and more. Excess iron causes oxidative stress and increases inflammation. As we age, we naturally accumulate more iron. Around 70% of our iron is stored in protein in the blood that helps carry oxygen. Ferritin should be inside your tissues to protect you from free iron and control when iron is released. This very efficient system recycles iron in the body. Certain pathogens, microbes, and infections use iron as fuel. This is why the body protects free iron. Some people feel better after donating blood, indicating they have too much iron. Too much iron without enough copper is a big problem. If you think you have this problem, limit iron exposure before taking a copper supplement. Iron is found in enriched flours, grains, and refined carbohydrate products. Shellfish, organ meats, sunflower seeds, and dark chocolate are good sources of copper. To combat oxidative damage caused by iron and other factors like alcohol, smoking, pollution, and junk foods, you’ll want to build up your antioxidant reserve. Glutamine found in red meat is vital, but protein is the most important! It’s especially important to consume enough protein as you get older. Zinc, manganese, magnesium, and selenium can increase antioxidant networks to help you regulate excess iron. Quercetin, curcumin, black tea, and increasing melatonin are also very beneficial. Lactoferrin is the most powerful chelator for iron. It’s found naturally in dairy and can be taken as a supplement. Burn fat and get shredded without doing anything? Is it too good to be true? 0:00 Introduction: The truth about V Shred 1:45 Understanding weight loss 2:42 Why is it harder for some people to lose weight? 5:25 It’s not just about weight loss 6:25 The best diet for weight loss 7:10 Learn more about how to do keto! You’ve probably seen advertisements offering a program that can help you burn fat and get shredded without doing keto, paleo, or even exercise. This diet only requires you to cut out added sugar and processed foods. But is this program too good to be true? The short answer: for most people, yes. Fat burning and weight loss are about what you eat and when you eat. It’s really tied to insulin. If you lower your insulin, your body can stop storing fat and will start burning fat. The lower your carbohydrates, the more fat you’re going to burn. It’s harder for some people to lose weight than others because they have insulin resistance. Some people can lose weight by only reducing their carbs because they don’t have insulin resistance. But this is rare. About 70% of the population has insulin resistance. The two main things that increase insulin are carbs and frequent eating. The more insulin resistance you have, the more you have to reduce your carbs and do intermittent fasting. The problem with the V Shred program is that it focuses on a very small percentage of the population that can lose weight by reducing junk foods and processed sugar. The majority of people will need to at least do fasting to experience results. It’s also important to remember that it’s not just about weight loss. It’s about getting healthy and looking good as you lose weight. I believe the best way to get healthy and lose weight is to get on the Healthy Keto® diet (lower your carbs and increase the quality of your food), do intermittent fasting, and do the right exercise. Today, we’re going to talk about using rice water for hair growth. Fermented rice water is the best rice water for your hair. It takes 48 hours to make probiotic rice water! Rice water contains B vitamins and amino acids essential for the hair. Fermented rice water contains pitera, a byproduct of fermentation often used in skin care. Pitera helps brighten the hair and also helps with dandruff and itchiness. Fermented rice water contains lactic acid, which decreases dullness and frizziness. It also contains magnesium and selenium. Fermented rice water increases nitric oxide, which helps bring oxygen to the hair's root. To make fermented rice water, combine 2 cups of organic rice in a bowl with 4 cups of water. Massage the rice with water and drain. Add 2 cups of water to the wet rice and allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 2 hours. Strain the liquid into a glass jar and cover lightly. After 48 hours, cover your fermented rice water with a lid and store it in the refrigerator. The cold temperature will slow down bacterial growth. To use fermented rice water for your hair, apply it to your hair and scalp, leave it on for 20 minutes, and then rinse. Do this twice per week for hair growth and healthier hair.
