episode April 26, 2026: Keep Electric Gold Weird cover

Beskrivelse

In this episode, the boys harken back to their roots by being weirdos.  They certainly reflect on another great win by Nashville SC, this time versus a talented Charlotte team.  And how about ol' Hany Mukhtar, who continues to be an incredible leader for the team and maybe one of the greatest MLS players ever.  Sam Surridge made an incredible return to the pitch as well, and the boys are here for it.  They also manage to compare the team's success this season to  early19th-century Spanish health logistics, which is obvious of course.  Speaking of weird, isn't time the weirdest?  And maybe it doesn't even exist?  Or maybe Andy Najar is the most fun soccer player to watch on the entire planet.  There's also plenty of evidence that the eastern conference is pretty abysmal this year.  The boys look forward to an action-packed week featuring matches versus Tigres and a struggling Philadelphia Union, and - no surprise - they predict a lot of success for the boys in gold.  And they drink beer.

episode July 12, 2026: Nashville SC Returns & Electric Gold Sings! cover

July 12, 2026: Nashville SC Returns & Electric Gold Sings!

In this very special musical episode of Electric Gold, the boys put all their takes and opinions to music.  First, they unconvincingly suggest that they didn't even care about the World Cup anyway, especially in light of the US team's terrible flame-out.  And as they try to forget all about that debacle and pretend they aren't watching the rest of the tournament (which they totally are), they start getting excited about the upcoming resumption of the MLS season, particularly a return to form for Nashville SC.  With the suffering that the team has gone through over the past several years, one could even liken the journey to the types of struggles and soul-searching one might find in an epic 19th-century Russian novel.  They boys are definitely looking forward to getting back to Geodis Park, but if we're going to do another cup for national pride, should we send state-level teams instead of national teams?  Tennessee could totally kick Mississippi's ass, by the way.  Regardless, as long as Jenny Taft is announcing, the boys will be tuning in.  But all that's for another day, because right now, it's time for the boys and NSC to focus on Atlanta United, Nashville's first foe coming out of the break.  Evan serves up a tremendous prediction for what that game has in store, as well as how he thinks the rest of the World Cup will play out. Bring your dancing shoes for this one! And they drink beer (with music). #worldcup #usa #usmnt #nashvillesc #coybig #electricgoldnsc #nsc #mls #podcastmusical

episode July 4, 2026: America Has Arrived cover

July 4, 2026: America Has Arrived

In this episode, the boys feel the US Men's National Team gaining momentum after a commanding victory over Bosnia & Herzogovina in the Round of 32 knockout round in the World Cup. And the entire World Cup has been so entertaining and full of drama, especially the last week. Cape Verde?! Paraguay?! Egypt?!! Morocco!! It's been a whirlwind of excitement, and the boys have loved every second of it. They've especially loved the performance of the American players, specifically Malik Tillman and Flo Balogun. And yet, Balogun was wronged with a terrible red card call in this last game, but at least we all love VAR, right? On this 250th birthday of America, this journey for the US team reminds the boys of the country's efforts to establish its identity through the Revolution, and also some of the players remind them of some of the greatest American bands we've ever heard. The hot takes are also here, and no surprise, the boys have some bold claims about how far this team can go. But first, they'll have to overcome some tough opponents like Spain and England. But first comes a game against Belgium, and you better believe we're bringing all the guns like it's Yorktown all over again. The boys make their predictions and gear up for the big battle. And they drink beer. #worldcup #worldcup2026 #usmnt #usa #electricgoldnsc #mls #nashvillesc #soccer #everyonen

episode June 21, 2026: Here's to the Dads cover

June 21, 2026: Here's to the Dads

In this very special Father's Day episode, the boys are bursting with American pride and lots of praise for the US team after another convincing win in the World Cup.  The recent victory over Australia only stoked the flames of excitement for the potential that this USA team could reach in the tournament, and they're already going where no American team has gone before.  It's hard to pick a more exciting moment - Flo Balogun's pressure that resulted in an own goal, or Alex Freeman out-leaping everyone for a header to take total control of the game.  But one thing is for sure, the Socceroos were pretty nasty there at the end. And tell us again why it is necessary for the US to play this meaningless game versus a disappointing Turkiye?  The boys take a moment to look back at this day in World Cup history in both 2002 and 1994, both of which offer some incredible historical moments for international soccer.  And in honor of Father's Day, the boys break out their Mount Rushmore for fictional father figures, and maybe share some life lessons of their own along the way.  Turning back to soccer, we have a recommendation - MORE teams in the World Cup please! And while we are keeping our eyes on you, Canada, our immediate attention is now on Bosnia & Herzogovina or Qatar, one of which will likely be the US opponent in the Round of 32.  Finally, the boys break out the crystal balls for some meaningless predictions for a meaningless upcoming game.  And they drink beer.

episode June 14, 2026: America! F&%$ Yeah! cover

June 14, 2026: America! F&%$ Yeah!

In this episode, the boys celebrate a historic and convincing victory by Team USA over Paraguay in their opening World Cup match, including much praise for potential golden boot candidate Flo Balogun. And how about Captain America making Jon eat his words? The team looks poised to make an impressive run in the tournament, and the boys think that the USA is already a big-time soccer nation. Thank goodness we didn't have the same referee that Mexico did in their match. The boys share some great moment in World Cup history, including one incredible day in 1970, and they also take a peek at other formidable opponents in the Cup, like Mexico and upcoming opponents Australia and Turkiye. They've got some bold predictions for the upcoming match versus Australia, and it's a great excuse for day drinking and Tailgate pizza. And they drink beer. #worldcup #teamusa #usmnt #electricgoldnsc #mls #nashvillesc #balogun #pulisic #worldcup2026

June 7, 2026: The Electric Gold Super-Spectacular All-American World Cup Preview!

In this episode - it's time for the World Cup!  After a brief recap of Nashville's game versus NYCFC, the boys turn their attention fully to the World Cup tournament descending on America this week.  The excitement is palpable, and the boys can barely contain themselves.  The boys reflect on how different the world is now versus the last time the World Cup was in the States back in 1994.  They wonder who will be the superstars to emerge during the tournament - does Messi have one more push left?  Will Mbappe finally deliver?  Is it finally time for Yamal to dominate?  Will an underdog surprise us all?  We're looking at you, Curacao! The boys stroll down memory lane to present their Mount Rushmore of US soccer players, and of course they have a lot of questions about this current US Men's National Team (as do we all).  As always, the boys bring some hot chicken takes before digging into a long list of World Cup superlatives that get increasingly ridiculous, and let's just say no one likes Neymar or Rodrigo De Paul.  Finally, the boys look into their crystal balls to make predictions for the US's first match against Paraguay - let the games begin! And they drink beer.
