Living Well with The Village in Howard
Mark and Joy are excited to welcome our guest, Kim Sherman, to our podcast studio. Kim and his wife Jane have been members of the Village in Howard since the village was started in 2014. He served as board member, and chairman of the membership committee. He and his wife Jane also organized many educational and social programs for our members. Many of our members are in their 70s and 80s. Many live alone. Kim was a business professor at Loyola University. He is passionate about educating our members the importance of estate succession plans. Kim has organized many “speakeasy” workshops in the past for our members. “ Speak easy” was a program sponsored by the Horizon Foundation. The workshops gave us guidance on the “end of life instructions” that we needed to discuss with our children or a trusted relative or friend before a serious illness happened. Today Kim will give us a summary of the 5 most important things that we need to discuss with our loved ones long before some unexpected events happen when we are too ill or unable to communicate our wishes. 1. The conversation with your family, 2. How to do what I do 3. Documents - 4. Estate Succession - 5. Powers
