Beskrivelse

“Sanctify the LORD of Hosts” • Isaiah 8:11-15 - Brother Jonah Lowrance  Isaiah prophesies about the coming captivity for Judah, and he warns them to not seek to make allies of nations around them to try to stem off the invasion. He tells them to not face adversity like the world does. He tells them to fear God only and seek to do His ways. In this immediate prophecy, Isaiah also foretells of the coming Messiah Who would deliver the Israel of God. Isaiah looked for that coming. “Be Ready to Answer” • Isaiah 8:12-18 & 1st Peter 3:13-17 - Elder Bryce Lowrance  Peter, having just used David as a learning example of trusting self instead of God, now give Judah, and in particular Isaiah, as an example of how we should face adversity and trial. Judah is facing captivity but Isaiah reminds them to not go into this trial thinking and acting like the nations around. Rather, Isaiah trusts in the Lord and looks for (hopes) for the coming of the Messiah. We now have the testimony that was bound up for the disciples. It is the gospel of the finished work fo Jesus Christ. We can continue to live as the elect of God even if we suffer for because we have our eyes focused on the promised return of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  These messages were preached on Sunday, May 3, 2026

June 14, 2026 - Elder Bryce Lowrance • "Tempted and Tried" - 1st Peter 4:17-19

“Tempted and Tried” • 1st Peter 4:17-19 - Elder Bryce Lowrance The old hymn tells us that when we are tempted and tried in this world that we will understand it all “by and by.” While it is true that, when we are in presence of Jesus, everything will be set straight in our understanding, we are not left without a sense of understanding now. Since our suffering is a clear evidence that we are the elect of God, we should respond by living like the elect of God. Rather than whining or complaining about how hard things are, we ought to be giving God the glory even in our trials. Why? because He is a faithful Creator and knows us and what we need. June 7, 2026 - Elder Bryce Lowrance • "Why? The Purpose of Suffering as a Christian" - 1st Peter 4:12-16

"Why? (The Purpose of Suffering as a Christian)" • 1st Peter 4:12-16 - Elder Bryce Lowrance Perhaps the most often asked question regarding the existence of God is, "Why is there so much suffering in this world?" The simple answer to that question is man's sin. The next things we should consider is that rather than thinking suffering is not fair we should see the merciful hand of a loving God in the fact that we do not suffer for all eternity for our sins." In this portion of scripture, Peter reminds us that our suffering for doing righteous things is a clear evidence of our union with Jesus Christ. And, if we are bound to Him now, we WILL see His full glory in the resurrection. This should motivate us to found joy in suffering because there is a "joy set before us" just as it was set before Christ on the cross. This message was preached on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
