Gender Cohort
Ashley presented a condensed recap of teaching on the topic of Biblical gender roles, but he reduced this triggering cultural conversation to the true root of the matter. He explores: How did we get here? What does scripture say? What do I do about it? Buckle your seat belt for a fierce ride through the last two hundred years of cultural slide in the church. See the attachments for the slides, notes, and bibliography of recommended resources.
Godliness Inside and Out
Today we continue a multi-week series on one of the most hotly contested passages in the Bible: 1 Timothy 2:8-15. We will tackle the following questions: What are the unique temptations for men and women that Paul addressed? What cultural influences was Paul trying to account for in setting expectations within the household of God? How would you answer these objections to a plain reading of scripture? It was only for that time and place. It was only Pauls opinion. Paul was not a legitimate Apostle.
