episode He Took "A Buck Twenty-Five" Literally cover

Beskrivelse

Jeff had plumbing work done and was told it would cost “a buck twenty-five,” which he took a little too literally. Then there’s a question science has apparently answered: women’s farts smell worse, men’s are bigger… so everyone loses. Jeff also ran into that classic situation where a simple project starts easy and quickly becomes way bigger than expected — to the point where hiring someone starts sounding like the better option. We try a deceptively hard challenge: making positive “I am” statements about yourself for ten straight seconds. It sounds easy. It isn’t. We also talk about what it feels like when you’re in a season of rapid change and trying to find your footing while everything keeps shifting. Plus, Rachael shares her full 180 on weighted blankets, and we wrap with road trip prep styles.

episode The Fish Ate His Scabs cover

The Fish Ate His Scabs

Our intro music is gone since Rachael got a new computer. We could get it back. But do listeners even care about podcast intros anymore? Jeff had quite a 4th of July - some kids blew up a transformer and knocked out his power, and while he was in the lake, the fish ate the scabs off his legs. Rachael is horrified. Jeff is somehow unfazed. Rachael shares her ATM saga. How many machines do you visit before you give up? The answer should not be as high as it was. Jeff reserved a car. There was no car. We've seen this episode of Seinfeld...Rachael added Bluetooth LED lights to her room and won't stop talking about them. Get the lights. Rachael attended WWE Smackdown for the first time in over two decades and had a genuinely great time. There's something special about watching people nerd out over something they love. And finally, what is Rachael's personal brand? A few people got her thinking about it. If she posted more about her life, what would that even look like? Do you care? Genuinely asking.

episode What Would You Put in Your Time Capsule? cover

What Would You Put in Your Time Capsule?

This week, we kick things off with a very divided take on fireworks. Rachael thinks they’re pure art. Jeff could take them or leave them. (It might have something to do with a Fourth of July he’s never fully recovered from.) With America’s 250th anniversary time capsule in the works, we ask: what three things would you put in your own personal time capsule… and where do you even bury one without it becoming someone else’s problem later? Jeff shares a story about a friend who is officially done with the ducks that keep invading his pool and has decided to take things to an extreme. We also vent about corporate team-building exercises that are more embarrassing than bonding. We talk road trips taken just to see a landmark and why Route 66 in Oklahoma is about to give us a few more excuses to stop the car. Plus, a quick life update: Rachael survived driving class and passed (relax)... now she just has to face the root canal she’s been avoiding.
