Beskrivelse

Matt and guest co-host Jeff Paterson, back from vacation, discuss a new club culture led by Manny and Caleb Malhotra, the new front office led by the Sedins and Ryan Johnson, the complications of a son playing for his father at the NHL level, the tenure of Adam Foote, whether any other coaching candidates beyond Manny make sense, the concerns about the new front office and the NHL Draft. They talk Stanley Cup Playoffs with Vegas on the verge of advancing to the Cup final, the World Hockey Championships and the Memorial Cup. Cam Robinson stops by to talk all things draft. Is there a world where the Canucks wait to name a head coach until after they pick? Could Caleb Malhotra drop past the Canucks at #3? Could he go #1? Can Calgary move up as reports indicate they would like to? Does dropping down to #6 make sense for the Canucks? Does SJ want to move down or get an NHL-ready player in a trade for #2? Ben Steiner joins to talk Canada's World Cup training camp and roster selection. Ben talks about Alphonso Davies' injury and readiness, the camp battle at centre-back, wing and in goal. The Whitecaps relocation story and the team on the pitch that just keeps rolling. Thank you to our great sponsors: @bet365: It's never ordinary! June 17, 2026: NHL business heats up, Canucks lie in wait; HNIC RIP

The guys get into the surge of NHL business, an AHL signing for the Canucks and some rumours that are percolating around the league. Postmedia's Patrick Johnston joins the guys on the changing tv habits for Saturday nights as well. Then it's OneSoccer and TSN's Kristian Jack, live in studio, to discuss the opening week of the World Cup and the tournament's reception in North America. KJ talks about Canada's possible lineup vs Qatar and the ramnifications of a Canadian win within the group. Kristian also has thoughts on the health of the Whitecaps in the city of Vancouver. June 16, 2026: NHL trades begin, Canucks next? Does NHL size matter?

The Cup has been awarded and NHL teams are getting down to business! Matt and Blake wonder aloud when the Canucks might make the first big player move of the Sedins front office era, whether it's a trade of a veteran before the draft or the re-signing of any players from last season. The guys tackle the notion of acquiring size in the NHL, as the Hurricanes get some notoriety for depending on smaller players. Cam Robinson joins from Elite Prospects with his latest from around the NHL, weighing in on the likelihood of a Canucks trade in the near future and their level of urgency on that file. He gets into the possibility of Carlolina's continuing interest in EP40, and whether the Canes have unlocked the secret to surviving the NHL playoffs with undersized contributors. Then it's a deep dive into some big swings for the Canucks with the 24th overall pick, including a Russian giant, a "diet Stenberg", and an American Blazer in Kamloops. Then Matt and Blake wrap up the show with a look at the day that was and the day to come at the World Cup.. Exciting draws galore yesterday, while the superpowers start today! Plus, is Canada going to get the injured players back in time for Qatar?? Then, the baseball story and the Lions' preparations for Touchdown Kelowna!
