1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

“Children of the Day: Ready, Awake, and Armed,” from 1 Thessalonians 5:1–11, shifts focus from the comfort of the resurrection to how believers should live in light of the Day of the Lord. The day will come like a thief in the night — sudden destruction for those saying “peace and security.” But believers are not in darkness; we are children of light and of the day. Therefore, we must stay awake and sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet of the hope of salvation. God has not destined us for wrath but for salvation through Jesus Christ. Encourage and build one another up with these truths.
