Stories of Hope & Help
Picture this: a medic in a remote region of the world is trying to help a patient. But the patient's problem is beyond the medic's education and experience. What should this nurse or doctor do? Operation Renewed Hope has developed an answer: using the StarLink system (or a regular internet connection), we are connecting medics with specialists in real time. Those specialists can ask the patient questions with the help of the nurse or doctor. The specialist's diagnosis is then shared with a doctor of record in the patient's country for ongoing treatment. As you can see, this is an astounding, pioneer work. Listen to this interview with Jan Milton to learn more about the ORH TeleMed project. The interview begins with Jan's explanation of our recent work in Jamaica after the devastation of Hurricane Melissa.
