episode How the Dallas Cowboys Just Got MAJOR Help in Round 1... Thanks to the Giants? cover

Beskrivelse

The board just shifted—and it might’ve handed Dallas exactly what they needed. On this episode of DoubleMove, Zac breaks down how the Dallas Cowboys could benefit BIG TIME from the New York Giants trading for Dexter Lawrence and jumping back into the top 10. With the Cincinnati Bengals now OUT of that range, a guaranteed defensive pick disappears—and that changes everything for Dallas at #12. We dig into what this means for the draft board, why the Giants’ roster (on BOTH sides of the ball) makes them unpredictable, and how their decision-making could push one of those top defensive prospects right into the Cowboys’ lap. From Caleb Downs to Sonny Styles, the names Cowboys fans have been watching for months are suddenly a lot more attainable. Plus, we talk through the ripple effect across the top 10—why teams like Washington, New Orleans, and others could prioritize offense, and how that “offense-heavy” trend could set Dallas up perfectly. And if the board falls just right? Don’t rule out a potential trade-up scenario. If you’re trying to map out how the Cowboys land a difference-maker in Round 1… this is one of the clearest paths yet. episode Dallas Cowboys MiniCamp Day 1: Notes, Standouts, and Surprises + Another Cowboys Draft Pick? cover

Dallas Cowboys MiniCamp Day 1: Notes, Standouts, and Surprises + Another Cowboys Draft Pick?

A Dallas Cowboys Podcast: George Pickens is back on the field for Dallas Cowboys mandatory minicamp, and that is easily one of the biggest stories from Day 1. After missing voluntary OTAs, Pickens was in the building, working through individual drills, and continuing his ramp-up as the Cowboys prepare for training camp. In this video, we break down why Pickens showing up matters so much, how his reputation and PR issues from Pittsburgh have followed him into Dallas, and why a holdout never really made sense if he wants to maximize his next contract and extend his NFL career. We also get into Brian Schottenheimer’s comments about leadership on the defensive side of the ball, why that was such a major issue for the Cowboys last season, and how veterans like Quinnen Williams, Rashan Gary, Malik Hooker, DaRon Bland, Trevon Diggs, and others could help change the standard in 2026. Add rookie Caleb Downs into the mix, and Dallas may finally have multiple voices capable of holding this defense accountable. The Cowboys coaching staff continues to be one of the biggest storylines of the offseason. Christian Parker has put a major emphasis on fundamentals, communication, technique, and accountability, and that is already showing up in practice. Jane Slater reported that linebackers were using resistance bands while hitting tackling sleds to help with hand placement, which is a small detail, but it says a lot about how deliberate this new staff is trying to be. We also talk about Malachi Lawrence getting first-team outside linebacker reps across from Rashan Gary while Donovan Ezeiruaku continues working back from offseason hip surgery. Lawrence even had pressure on Dak Prescott that could have been a sack, making him one of the more interesting young names to watch heading into training camp. Dak Prescott was also back in team drills and looked good, including a deep sideline throw to CeeDee Lamb that only No. 88 had a chance to catch. So while there was some concern about Dak being limited, the early minicamp reports were much more encouraging than anything worth overreacting to. And finally, we discuss quarterback Brendan Sorsby entering the 2026 NFL Supplemental Draft, why he is such an interesting developmental quarterback prospect, and whether the Cowboys should have any interest. Sorsby has a big frame, athletic ability, rushing upside, a strong arm, and playmaking ability outside of structure, but his off-field situation and reported sports betting violations make this a complicated evaluation. Topics include George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys minicamp, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Brian Schottenheimer, Christian Parker, Caleb Downs, Malachi Lawrence, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Rashan Gary, Cowboys defense, Cowboys training camp, Cowboys rumors, Cowboys news, and the 2026 NFL Supplemental Draft. episode 4 Cowboys Players that Christian Parker Could Change Life For... cover

4 Cowboys Players that Christian Parker Could Change Life For...

Christian Parker’s arrival in Dallas could completely change the outlook for several Cowboys defenders. In this episode of DoubleMove, we break down four Cowboys players who could benefit the most from Parker’s new defensive system: Marist Liufau, Rashan Gary, Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence. Marist Liufau has the athleticism, physicality and versatility to become a much more useful piece in a 3-4 defense. Rashan Gary could be unlocked as a featured pass-rushing weapon with more freedom and better structure around him. Caleb Downs has the skill set to become a true chess piece in the Cowboys secondary, and Malachi Lawrence is one of the young defenders who could carve out a real role if he keeps flashing during OTAs and training camp. This is not just about a new scheme. It’s about fit, communication, pressure, disguise and putting players in positions where their strengths actually matter. Christian Parker has a chance to reshape the Cowboys defense, and these four players might be the biggest winners. Topics include Dallas Cowboys defense, Christian Parker, Marist Liufau, Rashan Gary, Caleb Downs, Malachi Lawrence, Cowboys OTAs, Cowboys training camp, 3-4 defense, Cowboys pass rush, Cowboys linebackers, Cowboys secondary and the biggest defensive breakout candidates for the 2026 season. episode 7 Notes From Dallas Cowboys Day 2 of Media Availability at OTAs, a Veteran CB is STANDING OUT cover

7 Notes From Dallas Cowboys Day 2 of Media Availability at OTAs, a Veteran CB is STANDING OUT

Dallas Cowboys OTAs continued with Day 2 of media availability, and the practice gave us several important storylines to discuss. On this episode of the DoubleMove Podcast, we break down the latest Cowboys OTA updates, including Matt Hennessy’s neck surgery, what his absence means for the Cowboys’ backup center and interior offensive line depth, and how Dallas could adjust heading into training camp. We also dive into Caleb Downs already being used as more than just a safety. Downs was involved with the special teams unit, catching punts and working as the personal protector, showing why the Cowboys may view him as a true Swiss Army knife on defense and special teams. His personality is also starting to show, with veterans like Dak Prescott already embracing the rookie first-round pick. The defense had a strong day as well. Cobie Durant made the play of the day with a diving interception of Dak Prescott, while Caelen Carson and Dee Winters also got their hands on the football during 7-on-7 work. Under Christian Parker, the Cowboys defense appears to be emphasizing disguise, communication, and making plays on the ball, something Dallas badly needed after last season. We also discuss Brian Schottenheimer’s continued praise for Jaydon Blue, the honest offseason conversation that may have helped him reset, and why the Cowboys’ backup quarterback battle between Sam Howell and Joe Milton is a real competition. Howell has starting experience, Milton has elite arm talent, and the QB2 race could become one of the most interesting Cowboys training camp battles. If you’re looking for the latest Dallas Cowboys news, Cowboys OTA updates, Cowboys training camp storylines, Dak Prescott practice notes, Caleb Downs Cowboys updates, Jaydon Blue news, or the Sam Howell vs Joe Milton QB2 battle, this episode covers everything you need to know. 6 Notes/Standouts From the Dallas Cowboys First OTA Practice with Media Availability..

The Dallas Cowboys held their first OTA practice open to the media, and there were already plenty of storylines to break down. In this episode of the DoubleMove Podcast, we react to everything we learned from Cowboys OTAs, including Brian Schottenheimer making it clear that Tyler Guyton is not being handed the starting left tackle job. We discuss why Guyton is under serious pressure entering the 2026 season, how Nate Thomas fits into the left tackle competition, and what this means for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense moving forward. We also get into the latest injury recovery updates on DaRon Bland and Donovan Ezeiruaku, why the Cowboys are being cautious with both players during OTAs, and what their availability could mean for training camp. Plus, Brian Schottenheimer named a few early standouts, including CeeDee Lamb, Malachi Lawrence and Caelen Carson. We talk about why Carson being mentioned is especially interesting for a Cowboys cornerback room that badly needs depth. From there, we break down Rashan Gary’s early leadership role with the Cowboys, why his presence could matter for young pass rushers like Donovan Ezeiruaku, LT Overton and Sam Williams, and how Dallas may be trying to build a deeper pass-rush rotation instead of relying on one star. We also discuss the Cowboys’ upcoming joint practices with the Rams and Saints, why those reps could be huge for evaluating Tyler Guyton, the offensive line, the wide receiver room, the pass rush and the cornerback depth. Finally, we talk about rookie defensive back Caleb Downs already earning praise from Schottenheimer, what it means that he “doesn’t make the same mistake twice,” and why he could become a major piece in this Cowboys defense. The Real Reason the Dallas Cowboys Offense is Gonna Dominate Again in 2026

Dallas Cowboys Offense in 2026: Is Brian Schottenheimer the Real Reason They’re Elite? On this episode of the Dallas Cowboys Podcast, Zac breaks down why the Cowboys offense was even better than people realized in 2025, and why Brian Schottenheimer might be the biggest reason this unit can take another step in 2026. The Cowboys ranked near the top of the NFL in points, total yards, passing production, first downs, yards per drive, points per drive, play-action usage, yards after catch, rush success rate, and overall offensive efficiency. But the most impressive part? They did it while constantly battling poor field position, defensive issues, and special teams problems that made life harder than it needed to be. Zac discusses why Schottenheimer’s offense was not a one-year fluke, how his coaching history shows an ability to evolve, and why his staff construction with names like Klayton Adams and Christian Parker could be a major part of Dallas’ success moving forward. From offensive efficiency, to play-calling, to the run-pass balance, to the Cowboys getting most of their key offensive pieces back, this episode explains why Dallas could have one of the NFL’s most dangerous offenses again in 2026. Topics include: Dallas Cowboys offense, Brian Schottenheimer, Klayton Adams, Dak Prescott, Cowboys 2026 season, offensive rankings, play-action, run game efficiency, Cowboys coaching staff, and why this offense could make Dallas a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
