episode The Scottish Tempest — Episode 4: Blood and Fire cover

Beskrivelse

Driven from England as the fires of Marian persecution begin to consume the very church he helped build, John Knox watches from exile as his friends burn, his flock scatters, and his life’s work is undone. What begins as grief hardens into fury, as Knox wrestles not only with the suffering of his people but with his own absence from their trials, forced into a retreat that feels like betrayal. But the terror engulfing England was not born overnight. Behind the flames lies a dynastic crisis decades in the making—Henry VIII’s obsession with legacy, a marriage unraveling under political and theological strain, and a young princess shaped from birth to be a pawn in the ruthless game of European power. As Queen Mary ascends the throne, the personal becomes apocalyptic: a kingdom convulses, a church is purged by fire, and Knox is left to ask not only how it happened, but what must now be done. Receiving and Resting on Christ w/ Harrison Perkins | Redemption Accomplished and Applied (5)

Continuing our series on John Murray's Redemption Accomplished and Applied, Nate Shannon is joined by Harrison Perkins to discuss Murray's treatment of faith and repentance. Together they explore the nature of saving faith, the free offer of the gospel, and the lifelong call to repentance that flows from union with Christ. Along the way, they reflect on why true faith looks away from itself to Christ and why genuine repentance is not a burden, but a gift of grace. Wrapping up our live interviews from the exhibit hall at the 53rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America, this episode features conversations with Gabe Fluhrer, George Sayour, Josh Currie, and Matthew Everhard. The conversations explore how confessional theology equips Christians for ministry beyond the church walls—apologetics, government ministry, global missions, and courageous Christian witness. Faithfulness in an Unfaithful Age | Live from PCA GA 53

Another round of interviews recorded live from the exhibit hall at the 53rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America. This episode features conversations with Dave Filson, Dan Millward, James Baird, and Rob Pacienza. They explore what it means to faithfully engage a rapidly changing culture—from church planting in Detroit and recovering confessional Protestantism to political theology, cultural apologetics, and the enduring relevance of the Westminster Standards. Whether the challenge is secularism, Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, or the shifting assumptions of the modern world, these conversations point to the same conclusion: Christ's church must remain rooted in Scripture while confidently proclaiming the gospel in every generation.
