Truck Talk
Podcast af Ryan Mayfield
March 2020 // The world is changed. In the era of social distancing and half-price stock market sales, we’ve now got more time than ever to listen to podcasts. Truck Talk isn’t about trucks. It’s a podcast recorded in a truck, chronicling the tales, triumphs, and tragedies (that’s probably too strong) of people in this new world. Based in Conway, Arkansas, host Ryan Mayfield interviews various people around town, while in his truck, to hear how they’re surviving and what’s on their minds. Well, here we are, the end of Season 1 of Truck Talk. It's been a good ride, but like all road trips, it eventually ends. In this one last ride, Ryan talks about what is next for Truck Talk as well as some other projects coming up soon that you might be interested in. Thanks for listening!

Well, once again, there’s no one else in my truck...but there is a girl in her car in northwest Arkansas! Mary Mickler, ICU nurse, bluegrass fiddler, and “spro slayer” joins the Truck Talk podcast to give us a faith-filled insiders-view of the coronavirus epidemic in the hospital system.

Today in the truck, local artist and super-mom, Jessica Jones! We talk about how COVID19 is affecting her world, i.e. what it’s like to be a stay-at-home-mom, impromptu homeschool teacher, and full-time artists right now. We also tell stories that might not be true as well as talk about hope and gratitude in a difficult time. And drunk(?) painting. Can’t forget that.

It’s a first for Truck Talk...now there are two vehicles involved! Guest, Joe Snyder and host, Ryan Mayfield share stories about bicycles, talk about foster care in the age of coronavirus, and make up stories about Retro Rick. Check it out!

I’ll say it one more time for those in the back, “Leo was not locked in my truck. He could leave at any time!” Okay, now with that said, we can move on. Leo Cummings III joined me for a discussion about Conway, the Chamber, homeschooling, and a very interesting story about his cohost (from Black Dude White Dude Podcast) who might or might not have put his whole family in the trunk of his sports car?? You’ll have to listen to get all the details on that.
