Everyone has a touch of Genius, it's just a matter of giving ourselves permission to explore it and experience it. Join me for conversations about this perfectly imperfect journey called "being human", where we’ll learn to embrace our uniqueness and the shadows that hold us back. We’ll discover what impacts our wellbeing and potential as individuals and as a collective - essentially, what makes or breaks humanity. We’ll find what helps us excel and bring down the things that limit us or lead us astray from our potential. For the most part, this will be a series of conversations between you and me, aimed at inspiring a deeper conversation between you and your Genius self. Each episode will highlight somebody who has used their personal ingenuity as an example for us to learn from. Every other episode, there will be featured conversations with other thought leaders, experts, changemakers and creators offering their insights.Join me every Wednesday for A Touch of Genius wherever you listen to your podcasts. It's going to be fun.Together we’ll unpack talent, skills, strategies, attitude, behaviours and - yes - magic. It's time to explore and develop our Genius lives together.https://karinpinter.comhttps://instagram.com/karin.pinterWritten & Produced by Karin Pinter © 2024.Music by Grand_Project via Pixabay Hosted on Acast. episode Can You Program Genius? artwork
Can You Program Genius?
In this episode we get a little brainiac. We begin to explore the relationship between mind and brain in order to help us optimise and improve our personal Genius. We get curious about our magnificent brain and how we can program it to develop our potential. We also start to unpack how these two statements impact us, and how we can impact them: “Neurons that fire together, wire together,” and “If you don’t use it, you lose it.” Think of the brain as being the physical hardware, and the mind as being the software that runs it. Both need to be taken care of, because if not, we are not functioning at our best. In this episode: 2:12 – Our hardware and software 6:15 – Why we’re better than computers 8:37 – The problem with “I’m not going to change” 9:49 – What real progress looks like 13:57 – Ada Lovelace 16:56 – A Genius little exercise in optimisation 19:53 – Something we take for granted 21:53 – System malfunctions Links & Resources: * Turtle Academy [https://www.turtleacademy.com/] * Left Brain vs Right Brain [https://www.simplypsychology.org/left-brain-vs-right-brain.html] * How our brain processes negative statements [https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/02/090211122147.htm] * A Genius Little Exercise in Optimisation [https://karinpinter.com/genius/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/A-Genius-Little-Exercise-in-Optimisation.pdf]  (downloadable PDF) * The Brain That Changes Itself [https://amzn.to/4blUUqk], Norman Doidge ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. I’ll share how a certain little owl came to life through the power of imagination, and the importance of giving children the mental space to imagine and create for themselves. You'll also get to exercise your imagination to create things that matter to you.
