Imagine experiencing severe flu-like symptoms, brain fog, fatigue, muscle aches, and intense pain after every orgasm—sometimes lasting anywhere from two to seven days. For some patients, the discomfort can reach an 8 out of 10 on the pain scale and occurs every single time. Researchers believe that many cases may be linked to an allergic or autoimmune reaction to a patient's own semen. In fact, one of the diagnostic tools used by specialists may involve allergy testing with the patient's own semen—a process that is as unusual as it sounds. Dustin explains the symptoms, possible causes, and current treatment options available to help patients manage this challenging condition. While there is no universally effective cure, some therapies may include antihistamines, allergy medications, anti-inflammatory pain relievers, and certain medications used to treat BPH that may reduce symptoms by causing retrograde ejaculation. As always, treatment plans should be discussed with a qualified urologist.
