Sermon Outline Focus: God uses trials not to destroy our faith, but to develop mature, surrendered, Kingdom people. I. Trials develop our faith (James 1:2-3)           Trials reveal what we are truly trusting in.           Pressure exposes foundations.           God often meets us in the fire, not around it.           Can you say, “Even when I do not understand, I will trust the character of God.”           The fiery furnace and Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego (Daniel 3) II. Trials produce maturity and dependence (James 1:4-5)          God is more committed to our maturity than our comfort.          Trials deepen dependence on God.          Wisdom is seeing life through the rule and reign of Jesus.          Perseverance is not formed in comfort, but hardship (Romans 5:3-5; 2          Corinthians 12:9-10) III. Trials reveal surrendered faith (James 1:6-8)          Trials expose divided loyalties.          Faith learns to trust God even when circumstances are uncertain.          Kingdom people anchor their lives fully in Christ. IV. When trials come:          Don’t interpret hardship as abandonment.          Ask: “God, what are You producing in me?”          Ask God daily for wisdom.          Keep praying, obeying, and trusting.          Anchor your life fully in Christ. V. Kingdom people are not people who never face trials. They are people who              discover that even in the fire, Jesus is faithful. Sermon - Peacemakers & Bridge Builders: "Kingdom Relationships" Series

Sermon Outline Focus: In a world of deep hostility, kingdom followers of Jesus are called not to exercise revenge but to pray for our enemies. We can get rid of hostility by adopting a posture of humility and practicing hospitality I) Finding perspective while heading to camp         So much hostility and anger over the little things         Lincoln “You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry” II) The daunting list of living for Jesus in a hostile and sin scarred world (Romans 12:14-18)        Bless people who curse you (v. 14)        Rejoice with those who rejoice, Weep with those who weep (v. 15)        Live in harmony, do not be arrogant, and do not claim to be wiser than you are (v. 16)        Do not repay evil, focus on what is good for all (v. 17)        Live peaceably with all (v. 18) III) Two extremes of how we approach this list        A) Ignore because they are impossible and get sucked into world’s hate        B) Make a checklist on ways to accomplish and get exhausted        Only through God’s grace can we grow more like Jesus IV) How do we become bridge builders? “never avenge yourselves” (v. 19)        Vengeance belongs to God alone “feed them” “give them something to drink” (v. 20)             The way to bring about real change         “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (v. 21)             becoming a bridge builder is to end the hostility             Lucado’s illustration of a child playing in the sand Support the show [https://churchofthelakes.breezechms.com/give/online] Visit us online at churchofthelakes.org or on social media at churchofthelakesohio

Sermon - Faith on its Knees: "Kingdom Wisdom " Series

Sermon Outline Focus: Kingdom wisdom recognizes that prayer is not our last resort—it is our first response. I. Kingdom Faith Prays in Every Season         In suffering, we pray.         In joy, we praise.         Every circumstance is an invitation to draw near to God. II. Kingdom Faith Refuses to Fight Alone         God never intended us to carry our burdens by ourselves.         Pray with and for one another.         Healing often begins when we bring our burdens into the light. III. Kingdom Faith Expects God to Move         Our confidence is not in our prayers, but in our God.         Prayer is powerful because God is faithful.         Prayer isn’t our last resort – it is our first response. IV. Questions for Reflection         What is my first instinct when life becomes difficult?         Where is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply?         Who can I encourage or pray for this week? Sermon - The Battle Withinn: "Kingdom Wisdom " Series

Sermon Outline Focus: The greatest battles in our lives are often not around us—but within us. Every conflict ultimately asks one question: Who is sitting on the throne of my heart? I. Every Conflict Reveals Competing Kingdoms (vs. 1-3)       Conflict often exposes deeper desires.       A good desire becomes dangerous when it becomes a ruling desire.       Conflict is often the smoke; idolatry is the fire. II. Every Idol Demands a Throne (vs. 4-6)       The world says, “Build your kingdom.” Jesus says, “Follow Me.”       Every false king promises life but leaves us empty.       “But He gives greater grace.” (James 4:6) III. The King Invites Us Home (vs. 7-10)       Repentance is stepping off the throne and returning to the Father.       Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.       Kingdom wisdom begins where self-rule ends. IV. Questions for Reflection       What desire is competing for the throne of my heart?       Where am I resisting God’s rule?       What would surrender to King Jesus look like this week?
