1 John 2:26–29

Instead of chasing the temporary promises of this world, God calls us to love the Father and live for what is eternal. When our hearts belong to him, we discover the lasting joy and purpose only he can give.

1 John 2:12–14

In 1 John 2:12–14, John pauses from a series of commands to remind every believer of three foundational truths about their identity in Jesus. These three truths speak to every season of the Christian life—whether you're new to faith and wrestling with guilt, in a mature season where spiritual routines have replaced genuine closeness with God, or in the middle of an intense battle with temptation and sin, John has something important to say to you. Identity always comes before activity, and when you know who you are in Christ, you can move forward with clarity and purpose.
