Kuvaus

Faith Under Fire, a sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 17:17-24 given by Dir. of Family Life, Cody Balfour.  The sermon teaches that suffering is not a punishment for sin and that God’s Kingdom is not built on merit. While sin can have consequences, personal suffering is not necessarily our fault. In the passage, we see deep grief and shaken faith, yet God turns out dead ends into doorways. He is a Good Shepherd who stays present, God rebuilds our shattered faith. Let God be God in our lives—believing that He is working toward good and is willing to restore what feels shattered, if we allow Him to.

The Power of New Beginnings Part 2 | Faith Under Fire: The Ministry of Elijah

Faith Under Fire, a new sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 18:40–45 given by Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson.   Following God's dramatic victory on Mount Carmel, public power is restored as Elijah removes the prophets of Baal, demonstrating that the Lord alone is the true God of Israel. Elijah then models persistent prayer, bowing before God and continuing to pray for rain even when there is no immediate sign of an answer. Finally, God's promise is perceived when a small cloud appears on the horizon, growing into a mighty rainstorm that ends the drought. Through this passage, we see that God's power brings restoration, persistent faith is rewarded, and God's promises always come to pass in His perfect timing.
