Two Ways To Live For God's Glory Series: 1 Peter Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 3rd May 2026 Passage: 1 Peter 4:9-11 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Peter+4%3A9-11&version=ESV] ------------------- Peter issues a series of exhortations for Christians to obey, all of which flow from the fact that the end of all things is at hand. We are in the final stage of human history before Jesus returns and the Final Judgment takes place. Therefore, believers are to be focused on living for God's glory during this time of exile, for it is through the church that God displays the glory of the gospel and His eternal kingdom to the world. In this text, Peter says there are four characteristics that should mark the church as we live in light of the end of all things. We've already looked at sober prayer and sacrificial love. Today, we will consider the other two.

Praise To The God Of Life

Praise To The God Of Life Series: Psalms Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 12th July 2026 Passage: Psalm 30:1-12 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+30%3A1-12&version=ESV] ------------------- The setting of this song reflects on a time when David was as good as dead, facing the judgment of God for his sin. When David repented, God's anger was assuaged, and He mercifully delivered David from death. In dedicating the temple, the king led his people in joyful worship for a life that will never come to an end. At the heart of the psalm is an invitation to join in the king's praise. It is a call for us to give praise to the God of life, for salvation from death is given to all who belong to God by faith. This life is provided through the greater David, Jesus Christ, who ultimately fulfills the psalm. All of King Jesus' people may then join in His song of praise.

Taste and See

Taste and See Series: Psalms Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 5th July 2026 Passage: Psalm 34:1-22 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+34%3A1-22&version=ESV] ------------------- "The power of the psalm derives from the authority of the singer, the King, whose exhortation and teaching to his people is rooted in his personal experience of salvation. The final test must not simply be that God has rescued this King from danger and death but that God has saved a final King out of death itself. The believer to whom this psalm ultimately points is the one who has been raised from the dead." -Christopher Ash The psalm has two clear sections. I want you to hear both as a personal call from King Jesus, for the salvation of God's people is bound up in the salvation of their King.

Blessed To Be His

Blessed To Be His Series: Psalms Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 28th June 2026 Passage: Psalm 33:1-22 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+33%3A1-22&version=ESV] ------------------- The context of Psalm 33 is not all rainbows and roses. At various places we find the people in particular need, even deliverance from death. The blessed people are in a season of waiting on the Lord, hoping and trusting in Him for help. This song of joyful worship then transcends our circumstances. Its truths are relevant in seasons of plenty and seasons of famine. The blessed state of God's people remains when life is easy and when it's hard. Herein lies the purpose of the psalm. It equips us to joyfully worship the Lord at all times, for we are truly blessed to be His people.
