Limerick novenas get underway

For generations, the annual Redemptorist Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help has been a special moment in the Limerick calendar. This year, more than 5,000 people are expected through the doors of Mount St. Alphonsus each day. As the nine-day Novena gets underway from June 19th to June 27th. Fr. Brian Nolan, Rector of the Redemptorist in Limerick and Director of this year's Novena, joined Gillian to tell us more. Ireland South MEP delivers on pledge to enact EU-wide “Nudifier” Ban in AI

Artificial intelligence is developing at a remarkable pace, but so too are concerns about how the technology can be misused. Today, the European Parliament voted to ban so-called AI "nudifier" tools, software designed to create fake nude or intimate images of real people without their consent. The measure was proposed by Independent MEP Michael McNamara, who joined Limerick Today to discuss what the new law means, why it was needed, and whether Europe is keeping pace with the rapid growth of AI. A Limerick man is paddling the length of the River Shannon for Parkinsons

Trevor Morrissey and his friend Mike O’Sullivan set off from County Cavan last week and are spending ten days canoeing and camping their way south, all while raising awareness and vital funds for people living with Parkinson’s. The challenge is particularly personal for Trevor, whose mother has lived with Parkinson’s for many years. He joins us now from the banks of the Shannon to tell us about the journey so far.
