Kuvaus

Are you feeling like life is a bit surreal right now? Does the unshakable seem out of reach while everything is shaking around us? No time to come up for air before the next round hits? How do I tell the difference between what’s true and what’s fake news? Narratives? Agendas? Right? Wrong? How we can live with integrity in an ever-changing world. Do you feel loved and worthy to be chosen for this season or whiny and complaining wondering, “Why me, God?” (FYI, the hosts had 2 different answers.  ) If any of this resonates, then this is for YOU! Join us for a cathartic, honest conversation as we discuss hope in a turbulent and prophetic time. Let’s have some open dialogue as we seek to navigate where there might be some unifying spaces, looking up to see the long-range view and perspective from saturated time in God’s presence. As Lindsay brings up a thought to ponder… “The Believer’s Exit Exam: truth, choice, and service,” let’s ask ourselves, are we ready for the EXIT EXAM? Turns out, God interviews us with powerful questions that get to the heart of the things that trigger us, trip us up, tempt or allure us away from His best for us. We’ll share 5 key questions God asks that will help us navigate our changing world with integrity. Spoiler alert: Not only does God give us the questions (starting in Genesis), but He graciously gives us the answers, as well (see Matthew 24 and 25 for starters). God’s interview questions will keep us accountable, guarding our hearts from being deceived and our love from growing cold. We’ll see the answer for how to keep our anger in check, flip the script for good, anchor in Jesus, and not grow weary in doing good. Go back to the Garden of Eden with us. Let’s immerse ourselves in God’s presence as we walk with Him in the garden – without an agenda – listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. *CREDIT: The book mentioned in this podcast is Healing What’s Within: Coming Home to Yourself—and to God—When You’re Wounded, Weary, and Wandering, by Chuck DeGroat, Published October 8, 2024, Tyndale House Publishers,ISBN: 978-1-4964-8314-0 Video Production: Lisa Jane Bewley [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/736615214/?__cft__[0]=AZUF_G0cHFVN9nLivIY8mOWxRxsW0wk7DfGHlarElEW6LT8KsaRpioEgUt9m0IDNMLiaK-DYwKdYgxS7Mpi0WJwVAW-5AHUN0TCpulq1DbX5RGLtPQguNeGVqBzSMHs1SqYS68RJxsdO9jlSUF5zcgG4Ty6HWzHrO0VmYilgDBnpfdeLYBVqxw6Ogjo8t0VkM6OpjvlSQTgGo_fTJPdUl_WJ9X5gnybZA-imR_irtew1xw&__tn__=-]K-R] Co-Hosts: Lindsay Pollard [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/1524971298/?__cft__[0]=AZUF_G0cHFVN9nLivIY8mOWxRxsW0wk7DfGHlarElEW6LT8KsaRpioEgUt9m0IDNMLiaK-DYwKdYgxS7Mpi0WJwVAW-5AHUN0TCpulq1DbX5RGLtPQguNeGVqBzSMHs1SqYS68RJxsdO9jlSUF5zcgG4Ty6HWzHrO0VmYilgDBnpfdeLYBVqxw6Ogjo8t0VkM6OpjvlSQTgGo_fTJPdUl_WJ9X5gnybZA-imR_irtew1xw&__tn__=-]K-R] & Joy Waters Martin [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/1093441177/?__cft__[0]=AZUF_G0cHFVN9nLivIY8mOWxRxsW0wk7DfGHlarElEW6LT8KsaRpioEgUt9m0IDNMLiaK-DYwKdYgxS7Mpi0WJwVAW-5AHUN0TCpulq1DbX5RGLtPQguNeGVqBzSMHs1SqYS68RJxsdO9jlSUF5zcgG4Ty6HWzHrO0VmYilgDBnpfdeLYBVqxw6Ogjo8t0VkM6OpjvlSQTgGo_fTJPdUl_WJ9X5gnybZA-imR_irtew1xw&__tn__=-]K-R]

Women in Ministry || Pt. 2 with Marie Griffith || Meet Me in the Middle || Ep. 66

In this episode, we look at the recent SBC decision to formally prohibit women pastors across member churches as a catalyst for heightened discussion. We discuss the theological and cultural debates around women in pastoral and leadership roles in the church. As we consider this relevant topic, there is discussion around those who observed that those who restrict women's ministry roles rely heavily on select passages from Paul, while notably no one quotes Jesus to deny women's leadership. Lindsay referenced 1 Timothy 2:11–12 and then listed biblical women who exercised significant leadership: Deborah, Queen Esther, Miriam, Huldah, Priscilla, Phoebe, Junia, Lydia, and Mary Magdalene. Would some say this is connected to the issue of spiritual abuse, noting that restricting women is another form of power and control — a hierarchy that mirrors the same dynamics? Take a listen and share your insights. Advocacy for Those Wounded by the Church || Pt. 1 with Marie Griffith || MMM || Ep. 65

In this episode, Marie Griffith details her personal story of leaving a high-control, spiritual abusive megachurch in 2017 and how it led to her advocacy work for others who may have experienced the same -- including compassion and hope for those who may have been deeply wounded or shunned. We discuss the definition of "spiritual abuse" and seek to shed light on some of the warning signs. You'll hear thoughts on prosperity gospel, negative narratives about those who left, questions or concerns discouraged, and leaders claiming to speak for God in others' lives. Marie's blog series "Giant Church Incorporated" is available at giantchurchincorporated.com and "Live Like it Matters" (livelikeitmatters.net). A Word for the Church || Part 3 with Alex Williams || Meet Me in the Middle

Wrapping up this insightful series with Alex Williams as he gives a solid word to the Church in this day and hour... "Don't give up. Don't give in. You've come too far to quit now. Be consistent and stay on task with its mission." We discuss "consistency," and "getting outside the four walls of the church." How would that look if we lived with the out-pouring love of Jesus in the real living spaces of our communities... laundromats, etc. ? He shares what living out the bigger picture of the good news of the Gospel ... "elbow grease for the gospel." Thanks for joining us. Sincere Apology || Part 2 with Alex Williams || Meet Me in the Middle || Ep. 63

Find out more about the man, the myth and the legend -- Alex Williams -- and hear the story of God's rescue and redemption. In this episode, we have a lot of laughs about 80's hairstyles, embarrassing moments for pastors, and some serious conversation about his passion for "Sincere Apology" -- and not the "I'm sorry-kind-of-apology." What is his definition of "apology" in this application? What are the "church words" that may not be clearly understood today? How can we have conversations with others about the existence of God with humility and grace that promote dialogue instead of debate alone? Do we argue for the sake of being right? What if there is another way to speak with seed-planting in mind instead of bull-dozing? You might want to take a listen... there's more to the story... "Continue to give the Lord Jesus Christ the most honored place in your life. Then you'll be ready to give an answer to people when they ask you about this hope bubbling up inside of you. Don't be afraid to tell them ... but do so with gentleness and respect."I Peter 3:15 (The Clear Word) Video Production: Lisa Jane Bewley [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/736615214/?__cft__[0]=AZb5dS9yKTssapK9RDkiqLy1NKaYuET3OMsb4a5ZbtiBcLEbx-qanVFACKrVxhn7WP7npmIV01AqKpyEmi4Kl9rBFl10RMZd1KSmF6o8wq4RW5kDVQanL4FxQrJWV5WFrPWx1axhQf0i-pdqdRWJkkKrwL1aCdvAANx2T6vzk1PK6_UfF8g7b3hWLKCPNqmfQC1j28qJQsINqA7rfSOzBv-Q&__tn__=-]K-R] Co-Hosts: Lindsay Pollard [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/1524971298/?__cft__[0]=AZb5dS9yKTssapK9RDkiqLy1NKaYuET3OMsb4a5ZbtiBcLEbx-qanVFACKrVxhn7WP7npmIV01AqKpyEmi4Kl9rBFl10RMZd1KSmF6o8wq4RW5kDVQanL4FxQrJWV5WFrPWx1axhQf0i-pdqdRWJkkKrwL1aCdvAANx2T6vzk1PK6_UfF8g7b3hWLKCPNqmfQC1j28qJQsINqA7rfSOzBv-Q&__tn__=-]K-R] & Joy Waters Martin [https://www.facebook.com/groups/780425719070082/user/1093441177/?__cft__[0]=AZb5dS9yKTssapK9RDkiqLy1NKaYuET3OMsb4a5ZbtiBcLEbx-qanVFACKrVxhn7WP7npmIV01AqKpyEmi4Kl9rBFl10RMZd1KSmF6o8wq4RW5kDVQanL4FxQrJWV5WFrPWx1axhQf0i-pdqdRWJkkKrwL1aCdvAANx2T6vzk1PK6_UfF8g7b3hWLKCPNqmfQC1j28qJQsINqA7rfSOzBv-Q&__tn__=-]K-R]
