Robert Nicastro - The Tension of Tradition and the Future | Sacred Synergy #12

Robert Nicastro, PhD, is the Executive Director of the Center for Christogenesis and is a theologian, teacher, and writer whose research explores the convergence of religion, science, and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on how emerging technologies are reshaping human identity, planetary consciousness, and the future of religious thought. His doctoral dissertation, The Future as Sole Support: Metaphysics, Hyperphysics, and the Theology of Teilhard de Chardin, offers a reinterpretation of Teilhard’s cosmic vision as a compelling metaphysical framework for addressing the complex challenges of the twenty-first century. Robert and I discuss how evolutionary theology had an impact on his vocation and how young theologians are living in a moment of tension between tradition and the future of faith and organized religion. Joan grew up in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and her Mennonite upbringing created a heart for the world. She and her husband and three children lived in Indonesia for 13 years. Upon returning to the United States Joan taught English as a foreign language to adults in her Lancaster County, Pennsylvania community. Currently, Joan is exploring new avenues of faith and volunteering at Lancaster city’s welcome desk for refugees and immigrants. Jason Willits deployed with the US Army to the highways of Iraq one year after the invasion, the battle of Fallujah, and the Abu Ghraib scandal. He was also deployed to Afghanistan at the start of the largest Special Operations mission since Vietnam: training and arming the Afghan Local Police in 2011. Osama Bin Laden was killed halfway through his Afghan tour.
