This condition was not only a physical ailment but also carried significant social and spiritual stigma. Lepers were often isolated from their communities to prevent the spread of disease and to maintain ritual purity. In the Gospels, Jesus demonstrates compassion and divine authority by healing lepers, a notable example being the cleansing of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19. This healing not only restored their physical health but also reinstated their place in society and their ability to worship in the temple. Lepers in the Bible symbolize both human suffering and the power of faith, healing, and restoration through God’s grace. Their stories highlight themes of mercy, gratitude, and the breaking of social barriers. Relevant Scriptures: Leviticus 13:45-46 “The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. He is unclean. He shall live alone. His dwelling shall be outside the camp.” (Details the laws regarding leprosy and isolation.) 2 Kings 5:1-14 The story of Naaman, a commander of the Syrian army, who was healed of leprosy by dipping seven times in the Jordan River as instructed by the prophet Elisha. Numbers 12:10 “When the cloud removed from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, like snow. And Aaron turned toward Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.” (Miriam, Moses’ sister, was temporarily struck with leprosy as punishment for speaking against Moses.) 2 Chronicles 26:19-21 King Uzziah was struck with leprosy for his pride and disobedience when he unlawfully burned incense in the temple. New Testament Matthew 8:2-3 “And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, ‘Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.’ And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, ‘I will; be clean.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Luke 17:12-19 The healing of ten lepers by Jesus, where only one returned to give thanks. “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?” Mark 1:40-42 “And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, ‘If you will, you can make me clean.’ Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, ‘I will; be clean.’” Luke 4:27 “And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.” (A reference to the miraculous healing of Naaman.) --- © 2025 Scripture Central and Messages of Christ YouTube Channel No portion of this video may be reproduced, re-uploaded Learn more about your ad choices. Make Palm Sunday More Meaningful This Year | Easter Is A Season with Lani Hilton | E2

How do we move from simply "attending" church to truly worshiping? Discover the transformative power of praise as we kick off Holy Week by exploring the deep symbolism and history of Palm Sunday. In this episode of the "Easter is a Season" series, Lani Hilton shares why the Savior is inviting us into a "new spiritual quest." This video breaks down the powerful symbols of the Triumphal Entry and how they can change your Easter experience: The Rock Chorus: Why Jesus said the stones would cry out if we remained silent, and how we can "join the rocks" in our worship today. The Donkey: The profound humility of a King who enters not on a warhorse, but on a beast of burden, fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah. The Palm Branches: Understanding palms as ancient symbols of victory, deliverance, and the "joyful expectations" of the Lord’s return. The Community: Why Palm Sunday was a public "commotion" and how gathering to testify changes our perspective. We explore a powerful lesson from a young man in Uganda named Dennis, who discovered that praising God is the key to lasting joy, even in the most difficult circumstances. As Elder Patrick Kearon taught, to worship is to "intentionally praise and adore our God in a way that transforms us." As President Russell M. Nelson has invited us, let us make this week truly holy by remembering that we are graven on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16). Whether you are making a "rock chorus" craft with your children or seeking a more earnest prayer life, this video will help you recognize the Savior as your King and Deliverer. - - - - - - - - - - 0:00 A Lesson on Praise from Uganda 1:55 "Pay Attention to Dennis" 3:30 Worship vs. Attendance: Elder Kearon’s Insight 4:50 The "Rock Chorus" (Luke 19:40) 6:15 Family Activity: The Rock Chorus Craft 7:45 The Symbolism of the Donkey and Sacrifice 10:10 Palm Branches: Joy, Deliverance, and Triumph 11:55 The Great Multitude: Why Community Matters 13:15 President Nelson’s Holy Week Invitation 15:00 "Who Is This?" – Our Personal Testimony This video features Lani Hilton and is a production of Scripture Central. Unpacking the Story of Abraham and Isaac

Most people read the story of Abraham and Isaac as a troubling test of obedience—but the biblical account reveals something far deeper. Why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice the very son through whom the covenant promises were to be fulfilled? Learn what this powerful test means for believers today, and how the “binding of Isaac” foreshadows the greatest sacrifice ever made. - - - - - - - - - - If you benefited from this production and would like to offer a contribution, please visit our sponsor, Scripture Central, to make a donation.
