The regular season is coming to a close for Oregon State baseball, who once again have eclipsed the 40-win mark for the year. Ultimately though, the goal remains the same: get back to Omaha. The first step in doing so will be to secure a home regional again. Have Mitch Canham's group done enough to make that happen? Without a conference tournament to play, they'll have to wait a little bit. On this week's State of the Beavs, your host Matt Bagley is joined by On SI contributor John Severs for a fairly all-encompassing conversation on Oregon State athletics. John offers his observations on life in Corvallis, Oregon State football, and the Scott Rueck era of OSU women's basketball. The rumor mill is once again turning with regards to the Pac-12 Conference. What's in store for the league as they continue to prepare for the league's return in the 2026-2027 academic year? Matt offers his take on the conversation surrounding realignment in the last week. Oregon State baseball have one series left in the regular season, hosting the Air Force Falcons starting on Thursday. What should we expect from the Beavers in those three final regular season games? Welcome Back, Pac-12 Conference!

The month of July is finally here, which means the relaunched Pac-12 is officially official. Seven new full-time member institutions officially join the Pac-12 Conference, including Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State and Utah State. With the additions, the new Pac-12 features nine full-time members. Oregon State's football season begins on September 5 in Houston. Before that though, there are still several things the program is hard at-work doing. Namely, JaMarcus Shephard's staff has experienced several huge wins on the recruiting trail, securing a handful of high-level commitments [https://www.si.com/college/oregon-state/recruiting/oregon-state-football-picks-up-two-southern-commits-01kwahza9hg5] from the deep south - an area where the Beavers have historically struggled to recruit. Also this week, your host Matt Bagley sits down with another special guest to preview one of Oregon State's new Pac-12 compatriots. Mike Rowe of RamNation.com covers Colorado State, and offers his unique insight into the Rams' key teams and how the school found itself in a position to jump from the Mountain West Conference to the Pac-12 in the midst of the drama between the two leagues. What Are The New Pac-12's Priorities This Summer?

This week on State of the Beavs, there's plenty to get to from the Oregon State perspective, as well as league-wide. Kevin Griffin's tenure has begun as Oregon State's athletic director. In the opinion of your host Matt Bagley, the former Ohio State associate AD inspires confidence. Bagley also takes a look at the Brendan Sorsby drama that engulfed college football over the last ten days, as well as what Texas Tech's options actually are at quarterback for that second week of the season against the Beavers. On the baseball diamond, Oregon State lost pitching coach Rich Dorman to Florida, and freshman All-American Trey Morris followed. The Beavers are also preparing to lose critical starters Ethan Kleinschmit and Eric Segura to Major League Baseball, who themselves will be participating in the MLB Scouting Combine. The first season of the new Pac-12 begins in July. We still don't know what will happen with regards to media days...It's going to be a busy year for Pac-12 Enterprises. Where Does Oregon State Baseball Go After No Super Regional in 2026?

The Oregon State baseball program saw their season come to an end in the NCAA Tournament, short of where they were hoping. It was a dramatic end at that, falling 4-1 to the Oregon Ducks at PK Park. It was an up-and-down weekend for the Beavers who started rocky against Washington State, bounced back against Yale, got revenge on the Cougars, then couldn't find enough offense to make up for some late pitching mishaps against the Ducks. What went right? What went wrong? Where do the Beavs go from here? Now that the season is officially over, it's a great time to take stock of what the actualy state of the Oregon State baseball program is. Do the Beavers need to fill some immediate needs in the transfer portal? Or are they prepared to dominate in the new Pac-12 Conference? You'll also hear your host Matt Bagley discuss what's coming up for the podcast as the 2027 college football season gets closer and a whole new year awaits for Oregon State athletics.
