Kuvaus

Moving to New York didn’t just change my life… it exposed me to myself. From a small-town mindset to navigating one of the biggest cities in the world, I had to learn everything the hard way. From spending money just to feel comfortable… to hopping on the train every day with damn near nothing. From rooftop events to rock-bottom moments… this city made me tighten the fuck up. I went through layoffs, rejection, betrayal, and one of the toughest seasons of my life. Over 5,000 applications. Getting ghosted after final rounds. Sitting there like… damn, what now? Questioning everything. Losing patience. Losing sleep. Still having to wake up and act like I’m good. But at the same time… I was building myself up. More disciplined. Dropped weight. Creating more. Healing in real time. Becoming somebody I ain’t even recognize at first. New York ain’t hand me shit… it demanded I evolve. It taught me how to stand on my own. How to move when nothing lined up. How to cut off people and energy I outgrew without second guessing it. How to keep going when shit don’t make sense and your faith getting tested every single day… talking to God constantly and feeling like no answer is even in sight. And now I’m on the other side of it… new job, momentum back, life moving different… and I get it now. That dawg in me had to get unlocked. No way around it. This ain’t even about New York. It’s about having the courage to leave what’s comfortable… to sit in that pressure cooker and not fold… to go through hell and not run… and really become who you said you was gonna be when nobody’s there to guide you. Because this version? It was waiting on that old DeMarcus to turn the corner.

Your Most Meaningful Relationships May Not Be The Long Term Ones

In this episode of The Life of a Multifacet, I’m talking about something people don’t always say out loud — that some relationships can be real, meaningful, and life-changing even if they aren’t meant to be long-term. I get into non-traditional relationships, dating in different seasons of life, emotional honesty, boundaries, and why some of the shortest connections can still teach you the most about yourself, love, compatibility, and what you truly want in a partner. I also talk about why I think people put too much pressure on everything needing to lead to forever, and how sometimes the most valuable thing is simply appreciating a connection for what it is while it’s there. This episode is really about being honest about where you are, respecting people along the way, and understanding that not every meaningful relationship has to fit a traditional mold to still have value.

Learning To Stop Over Explaining And Giving Myself To Everyone

In this episode of The Life of a Multifacet, I’m talking about why I had to stop explaining myself so much and why not everybody deserves the real me. I get into what it looks like when you’re someone who thrives off connection, shows up deeply for people, and gives others a lot of your energy, only to realize that same energy isn’t always being returned. Sometimes you keep trying to explain your heart, your intentions, your perspective, and your emotions to people who were never trying to fully understand you in the first place. This episode is really about learning how to stop spreading yourself thin, stop giving everybody full access to your mind and spirit, and start recognizing that you can give less while still being just as valuable. It’s also about boundaries, emotional awareness, and understanding that protecting your peace doesn’t make you cold — it makes you wiser.

Trust Me...Less Is Way More In The Content World

In this episode of The Life of a Multifacet, I’m talking about why less is more when it comes to building your brand through social media. I get into how easy it is to feel pressure to post more, chase the algorithm, and act like you have to constantly put content out just to stay relevant. But what I’ve been realizing is that building a real brand is more about telling your story in a way that feels natural, intentional, and sustainable instead of forcing nonstop content just to keep up. I also talk about how different parts of my brand work together, why backlogged content can still have value, how giving people space to grow with your story matters, and why trying to do too much too fast can actually take away from the brand you’re trying to build. This episode is really about pacing, authenticity, and learning how to trust that the right people will connect with what you’re building over time.

This is How My Most Recent Keloid Surgery Went Pt.2

In this episode of The Life of a Multifacet, I continue my recent keloid journey and break down what happened after the procedure, the radiation process, and everything that came with trying to heal while still showing up for myself. I talk about traveling back and forth from New York to New Jersey for the surgery, choosing to take the train instead of spending hundreds on a ride, dealing with swelling, healing, discomfort, and still pushing through the process with confidence. I also get into the radiation experience, the conversations I had along the way, and how this whole journey reminded me that resilience shows up in more ways than one. This episode is bigger than just skincare. It’s about not letting insecurity, setbacks, or outside opinions stop you from continuing to build yourself. Even when something comes back, even when life doesn’t go how you planned, that doesn’t mean all your progress disappeared. It’s all part of the story.

This is How My Most Recent Keloid Surgery Went Pt.1

In this episode of The Life of a Multifacet, I’m giving a real update on part three of my recent keloid removal process and breaking down what the surgery experience was actually like from start to finish. I talk about the difference between going under local versus anesthesia, the pre-op process, the medications they give you, what it was like getting up at 3 in the morning to travel from New York to New Jersey for the procedure, and how the full surgery day played out. I also get into the conversations I had with Dr. Jones, how this process came full circle for me, and why it means so much to be in a place now where I can use my story to help other people dealing with keloids and skincare issues. This episode is really about more than just the procedure itself. It’s about healing, persistence, impact, and continuing to turn one of the hardest parts of my journey into something that can reach and support other people too.
