I Thessalonians: A refresher on the basics

I Thessalonians 5:12-28

It is a rich letter with a strong focus on the second coming of Jesus. This letter not only emphasizes the return of Jesus but also challenges us to live for Jesus as His return approaches.  Paul ends with a wonderful blessing. A blessing that reminds us of all that God has done for in Christ. We will be sanctified completely and be presented blameless before the Lord on that day. All of this will take place because God is faithful. He will do it. With this in mind, we must rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks. This is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus. Zechariah 14

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1861966/fan_mail/new] We now come to the conclusion of Zechariah. Zechariah and Hagai had both written to the Israelites who had returned from Babylon. Hagai wrote encouraging them to restart the building of the temple. Zechariah wrote telling them to finish the work they began. May we all start the race well. May we all finish the race well.  These last few chapters of Zechariah have focused on the second coming of Jesus. God's word is true. We can know for a certainty that Jesus is coming again and He is coming soon.  Let us all be ready for His return. May we all keep our hand to the plough and never look back. Zechariah 13

Everything in the world is lining up for that day, the day when Jesus comes again. Some see the world as being out of control. But as we study passages like the one before us, we can know for certain that God is in control Are you ready for the return of Jesus? Are you running the race to win? He now transitions from what they did not know, the rapture of the church, to what they do know, the Day of the Lord. All teaching regarding the return of Christ should bring comfort to us as believers. Not only should it bring comfort, but it should build us up in our walk with Jesus. Any believer not comforted or edified by the knowledge of the return of Christ should be a concern.  May we all truly walk with the Lord in these last of the last days. May we all truly comfort and build one another up based on the truth found in Jesus and His word. Zechariah 12

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1861966/fan_mail/new] As we come to the last three chapters of Zechariah, the prophies now center on the return of Jesus. It begins with God affirming His power, sovereignty and the fact that He alone is the infinite, almighty creator of everything seen and unseen. This is critical as these prophesies unfold.  One thing that stands out concerning Israel in the last days is that the whole world will be against her. The whole world will seek her destruction. But Israel belongs to God. Throughout this passage we see God saying "I will" on behalf of Israel Israel cannot be defeated. Every nation that comes up against Israel will be defeated because the God of Israel fights on her behalf.
