Kuvaus

No confession. No manifesto. No search history about staging a crash. No suicide note. No witnesses to intent. The prosecution's case against Mackenzie Shirilla was built on surveillance footage, black box data, text messages, and a prior threat — and then charged as four counts of premeditated murder. In most cases with that charge, there's a trail. In this one, there wasn't. Shirilla was seventeen when the crash in Strongsville, Ohio killed Dominic Russo and Davion Flanagan. The footage shows the car accelerating to nearly a hundred miles per hour before hitting a building. The data shows full throttle and no braking. That evidence is real. But the prosecution's theory required a leap — from "the car did this" to "she planned this" — and the bridge between those two conclusions was built on her personality, her texts, and a prior threat she made and didn't follow through on. The defense had a possible answer: a diagnosed medical condition called POTS that can cause sudden loss of consciousness. But Shirilla's own attorney failed to bring in an expert witness at trial. After the conviction, a neurologist reviewed her medical records and concluded the evidence was consistent with a medical episode. His opinion was submitted to the court and rejected — not because it was wrong, but because the paperwork arrived one day past Ohio's filing deadline. Robin Dreeke, former head of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Program, looks at how this case was constructed from the ground up — the evidence that was presented, the evidence that was missed, the charging decision that raised the bar to a level the proof may not reach, and what it means when a narrative becomes so compelling that nobody stops to ask whether the evidence actually supports it. jakson What Elizabeth Siders Did After Marrying At 15 kansikuva

What Elizabeth Siders Did After Marrying At 15

Elizabeth Siders was fifteen when she married into the family now at the center of one of Ohio's most disturbing cases, and she's the one who gave birth to all sixteen children found inside that house. Tony Brueski, Robin, and defense attorney Eric Faddis break down why her own attorney is arguing she may be as much a casualty of this family as anyone.  Faddis, a former prosecutor, lays out what that argument does to the sixteen felony counts she's facing and whether the law even has room for a defendant who might also be someone this system failed for eighteen years. It's a legal question with no clean answer, and it's about to shape everything that happens next in this case.  The rest of the case isn't any cleaner. A Vinton County judge has silenced the Attorney General's office, the sheriff, and the prosecutor with a gag order requested by the man whose indecent exposure warrant is the reason deputies found those sixteen children at all. Five years before that, Gallia County Juvenile Court filed six truancy complaints on this family, documented that six children had missed a full year of school, and then closed every case when nobody could locate them. No one escalated it. No one called children's services.  Gary Siders Senior, seventy-three, faces sixteen felony counts himself and walked free on a recognizance bond after his attorney filed five competency motions. Ohio has already approved a million dollars in emergency funding to cover the fallout in one county alone, and officials who walked through that property have compared what they found to conditions no one would accept for livestock.  We go through the charges, the gag order, and exactly where this system stopped paying attention.  Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ [https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/]  Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Nancy Guthrie's Hoaxer Walked Away With WHAT?!

Nancy Guthrie's family got fake ransom demands while search teams looked for her, and the man behind them just walked out of federal court with probation. Tony Brueski unpacks the plea deal, the sentence, and why it's landing as a slap in the face to everyone who's followed this case.  Harassment. That's what the four-million-dollar ransom note and the follow-up apology letter got reduced to. Five years of probation, every count running concurrently. Retired FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer put it plainly on the record: this outcome is a travesty, and it could invite more of the copycat extortion attempts investigators have started calling the TMZ Twelve.  The apology letter is its own strange piece of this. Sent only to local television stations, it called Nancy's death an accident, a claim nobody investigating this case has confirmed. Both that letter and the original ransom note were reportedly traced to the same IP address, one of the only real leads on the table. Porch Guy, another person connected to the case, still hasn't been identified or taken in.  And the contradictions don't stop with the hoaxer. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has spent this case fielding pointed questions about his own record, including one moment where he told a reporter to enjoy his hit piece instead of answering. The FBI and the Sheriff's Department keep pointing at each other over who's actually running point, and a retired agent says there's real disagreement inside the Bureau over whether some of the evidence holds up.  Even the physical evidence has a strange trail. One key item reportedly flew to Florida and back before anyone bothered running it against a database, which is not exactly standard operating procedure.  Nancy Guthrie is still missing. This is everything on the record right now.  Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ [https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/]  Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Siders Case Broke Open Over WHAT Accident?!

Sixteen kids. One small house in Hamden, Ohio. And a discovery that had nothing to do with anyone whose job it was to notice.  Deputies in Vinton County went to that property to serve a warrant tied to something else entirely. Ohio's Attorney General has been direct about it — nobody on that call expected children to be there. The school district had zero record of any of these kids.  The oldest, eighteen years old, reportedly can't write her own name, a fact that tells you exactly how far outside every system she'd been living.  Tony Brueski works through the people who lived around that house too. Retail workers describe years of small, specific details — clothing, hygiene, unusual closing-time errands — details they can now recite in full but somehow never reported at the time. A neighbor seventy feet from the property maintains he never saw a child there across six years. A psychotherapist unpacks the mental shortcuts — the kind everyone uses — that turn a nagging feeling into something easy to ignore.  Four adults now face sixteen counts each of second-degree felony child endangering, all pleading not guilty, with no indictment returned so far.  From there the episode pulls back to the bigger, uglier machine: a mandated-reporter system that assigns duty without consequence, a funding structure built to reward states for removing children rather than finding them, and a comparable failure out of Washington, D.C., where four girls died inside a system a federal judge had watched over for nineteen years.  An accident found these kids. The episode asks what it would take for a system to do it on purpose.  Social Links & Legal Footer  Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ [https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/]  Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Siders 16 Kids: Why One Sibling Never Learned WHAT?!

There's a skill an eighteen-year-old in the Siders case never picked up, and it's not for lack of effort — her mind formed inside a house with no school, no strangers, no outside world at all. Sixteen kids, one Hamden, Ohio address, and a town of seven hundred that claims total ignorance. Tony and Robin start with the timing that makes this case so hard to sit with: silence before the arrests, then a wealth of detail after. A Dollar General employee suddenly remembered years of specifics — clothing, hygiene, the family's odd shopping hours — the moment reporters came calling. A neighbor insists six years passed without her seeing a single child. Regular delivery drivers who encountered the oldest son noticed nothing worth flagging. The Attorney General points to deliberate record-avoidance, which is accurate — but that kind of avoidance only works with cooperation from everyone nearby. Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott then explains what that isolation did to the children's development. She pushes back on the AG's "almost feral" framing and describes what actually happens to a mind that grows up entirely cut off. A number of the sixteen can't communicate verbally, and Scott lays out what tends to form between siblings who've only had each other as a language source. None of them knew their life was atypical — that house was the only reality they had. Scott closes with the Turpin case as the clearest comparison point: national sympathy and freedom didn't guarantee safety for those thirteen kids either. One town's blind spot, one house's cost — this episode puts them side by side. The Charlie Kirk Prosecutor's TMZ Mistake Cost Him WHAT?

A confession, a suspect who turned himself in, DNA on the rifle — the case against Tyler Robinson in the Charlie Kirk killing had every element of a lock. Then the state's own prosecutor started talking to TMZ. The deputy county attorney handling the death-penalty prosecution discussed the strength of the evidence, violating the pretrial publicity order a judge had set. That judge responded by holding him in civil contempt of court. The defense asked the court to remove the death penalty as punishment for the breach. The judge said no to that request but expanded the jury pool and ordered the prosecution to cover the defense's legal costs — a decision that follows the case into every hearing left. That's only one part of this episode. A theory has picked up real traction claiming Robinson isn't the man who killed Charlie Kirk — that the actual shooter is still free. Tony puts both leading versions of that theory against what's actually in the record: the confession note recovered under Robinson's own keyboard, DNA on the rifle, engraved shell casings matched to a tool found in his home, and a surveillance trail that places him on campus and in the woods where the weapon was found. He also answers the anomalies fueling the second-shooter version — the missing rooftop casings, the second bullet lodged in another building, the ATF's failure to match the fatal round. None of this is mockery — a case this chaotic in its early hours earns real questions. But the answers hold, and the one that damages the conspiracy most isn't forensic at all. It's a decision Robinson's own defense attorney made over five days of hearings, with his client's life on the line.
