INFANT GIRL, VANESSA, DISAPPEARS NEW HAVEN, MOM FOUND DEAD

In 2019, Christine Holloway, 43, was found dead in her bathtub, beaten. Her 14‑month‑old daughter, Vanessa Morales, vanished.   Police arrested Jose Morales, 48, Vanessa's father, for the murder. He testified two intruders broke into the apartment, one of them attacked Holloway with a crowbar, and then took the child.  Morales claimed he was high on PCP, unable to stop the attack.  Prosecutors alleged Morales struck Holloway repeatedly with a blunt object. He then cleaned the scene for 37 hours,  disposing of the blood‑soaked evidence. Morales was convicted in April last year of murder and evidence tampering, sentenced  to 65 years in prison.    The child, Vanessa, was last seen two days before her mother's death.
