Adam's Daily Bread
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. Psalms 11:1-7 - David affirms trust in the Lord as refuge while fleeing danger, rejecting advice to escape like a bird. - God tests the righteous and hates the wicked; He will rain coals of fire and brimstone on the evil while the upright see His face. Psalms 59:1-17 - David cries to God for deliverance from bloodthirsty enemies who lie in wait and slander him without cause. - He praises God as his strength and fortress, asking for judgment on the nations so that the ends of the earth know God rules in Jacob. John 12:2-8 - At a supper in Bethany, Mary anoints Jesus' feet with expensive perfume and wipes them with her hair, filling the house with fragrance. - Judas objects claiming concern for the poor, but Jesus defends Mary, saying she has kept it for His burial day and the poor are always present. Matthew 26:14-16 - Judas Iscariot goes to the chief priests and agrees to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. - From then on, Judas watches for an opportunity to hand Jesus over. Mark 14:10-11 - Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, approaches the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. - They promise him money, and he begins seeking a convenient time to deliver Jesus. Luke 22:3-6 - Satan enters Judas Iscariot, who then confers with the chief priests and officers on how to betray Jesus. - They agree on a price, and Judas consents, looking for a chance to betray Him away from the crowd. Matthew 26:17-19 - On the first day of Unleavened Bread, the disciples ask Jesus where to prepare the Passover meal. - Jesus directs them to a specific man in the city; they follow His instructions and prepare the Passover.
