Bodyway Intuition Podcast
In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, meet Montreal-based meditation teacher, podcast host, and writer Fimo Mitchell. He began meditating in 2009 during his first trip to India. Since then, he has spent thousands of hours in meditation and completed two mindfulness courses. In 2021, he founded When The Village Meditates, a nonprofit committed to creating meditation, yoga, and discussion spaces, as well as wellness retreats that center on racialized and marginalized people. Fimo is also the author of three books, and last year, his first short film, La Viande, was released. Listen to Fimo’s journey to meditation, which began with seven years of observation, before meeting a mystic in India and meditating along the Ganges River. He also shares how he grew out of Christianity as he sought more truth. How travel expanded what he thought he knew about life, and how supporting one teacher with anxiety at a school in China led him to teaching others how to meditate. He goes on to explain why he focuses on marginalized people and how meditation allows you to step back from challenges, enabling a softening of the heart and a sense of inner worthiness.
