In this chapter, we see both the holiness of God and the power of the early church on full display. Ananias and Sapphira deceive the apostles and face immediate judgment, reminding us that God takes truth seriously. At the same time, the apostles continue performing miracles, preaching boldly, and standing firm even under persecution. Acts 5:29 says, “We must obey God rather than men.” This chapter reminds us that following Christ requires integrity, reverence, and courage. Acts Chapter 19 - The Word Prevails: Power, Repentance, and True Worship

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/fan_mail/new] Today we are studying Acts Chapter 19. In this chapter, Paul arrives in Ephesus and encounters disciples who had received John’s baptism but had not yet fully understood the work of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. As Paul teaches, baptizes, and lays hands on them, the Holy Spirit comes upon them. Paul continues teaching boldly, and God performs extraordinary miracles through him. But this chapter also shows us the danger of using the name of Jesus without truly knowing Him. The sons of Sceva attempt to imitate spiritual authority, but they are overpowered. As a result, fear falls on many, believers confess their sins, and people burn books connected to sorcery. Acts 19:20 says, “In this way the Lord’s message flourished and prevailed.” This chapter reminds us that the gospel has power, true repentance produces visible change, and Jesus alone is worthy of our worship. Acts Chapter 18 - Encouraged by God: Faithfulness, Courage, and Continued Ministry

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/fan_mail/new] Today we are studying Acts Chapter 18. In this chapter, Paul travels to Corinth, where he meets Aquila and Priscilla, works as a tentmaker, and continues proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah. Even when opposition rises, the Lord encourages Paul in a vision and tells him not to be afraid, but to keep speaking. Later, we see Apollos, a gifted speaker, being instructed more accurately in the way of God by Priscilla and Aquila. Acts 18:9–10 says, “Then the Lord said to Paul in a night vision, ‘Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent. For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city.’” This chapter reminds us that God strengthens His servants, provides faithful partners, and calls us to keep speaking the truth. Acts Chapter 17 - Reasoning from Scripture: Seeking the God Who Is Near

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/fan_mail/new] Today we are studying Acts Chapter 17. In this chapter, Paul continues his missionary journey through Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens. He reasons from the Scriptures, explaining that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead, and many believe. In Berea, the people receive the message eagerly and examine the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul said is true. Later, in Athens, Paul speaks to people surrounded by idols and points them to the one true God who made the world and gives life to all. Acts 17:27 says, “He did this so they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” This chapter reminds us that God’s truth can be examined, His gospel must be proclaimed, and He is near to those who seek Him.  Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/support] We’re so grateful you chose to spend this time with us in God’s Word today. Acts Chapter 16 - Guided by God: Open Doors, Open Hearts, and Midnight Praise

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/fan_mail/new] Today we are studying Acts Chapter 16. In this chapter, we see Paul begin another missionary journey with Silas, and we are introduced to Timothy. We see the Holy Spirit guiding their steps, closing some doors and opening others. Paul receives a vision calling him to Macedonia, where the gospel reaches Lydia, whose heart the Lord opens to believe. Later, Paul and Silas are beaten and thrown into prison, but instead of despairing, they pray and sing hymns to God at midnight. Acts 16:25–26 says, “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains came loose.” This chapter reminds us that God guides His people, opens hearts, and brings freedom even in dark places. Acts Chapter 15 - Grace Confirmed: Unity, Wisdom, and the Gospel

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605799/fan_mail/new] Today we are studying Acts Chapter 15. In this chapter, a major question rises in the early church: must Gentile believers follow the law of Moses in order to be saved? Paul and Barnabas strongly oppose this burden being placed on new believers, and the apostles and elders gather in Jerusalem to seek wisdom and direction. Peter reminds them that God gave the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles by faith, and that salvation comes through the grace of the Lord Jesus. Acts 15:11 says, “On the contrary, we believe we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way they are.” This chapter reminds us that salvation is by grace, the church must seek unity in truth, and believers should avoid placing unnecessary burdens on others.
