Lan Xang

Kingdom of Luang Phrabang

Lan Na

It also looks at panna districts, which tied administration to irrigation, agriculture, taxation, corvée labor, and census records. Together, these structures reveal both Lan Na’s political sophistication and its vulnerabilities, as limited centralization, manpower shortages, and regional centrifugal forces contributed to the kingdom’s decline in the mid-sixteenth century.

Lawa
