Descripción

Psalm 83 is one of the imprecatory psalms, a prayer asking God to defend His people against those seeking to harm them. The psalmist cries out for God to intervene, protect, and defeat the enemies of Israel. But the most important part of the psalm comes in the final verse: “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.” The ultimate goal was never simply comfort, safety, or victory for Israel, it was that God would receive honor and glory. The same should be true in our lives. We naturally pray for deliverance, provision, and protection, and God invites us to bring those needs before Him. But above all else, our desire should be that the way we live and the way God works in our lives would point others back to Him. Whether in victory or hardship, let your life reflect the greatness of God so that He receives the glory He deserves. Teach Us to Number Our Days | Psalm 90:12

Psalm 90 reminds us of an important truth we often try to ignore: our time on earth is limited. While God is eternal and unchanging, our lives move quickly and are gone before we realize it. That’s why the psalmist prays, “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” In other words, help us live with an awareness that every day matters. It’s easy to waste time chasing things that ultimately do not last, assuming we will always have more opportunities later. But wisdom comes when we recognize that life is short and choose to use the moments God has given us for His purposes. Because God is eternal, we can stand firmly on His unchanging truth and faithfully do the work He has called us to do today. Don’t waste the time you’ve been given—live intentionally for the glory of God. The God Who Never Changes | Psalm 90:1

Psalm 90 reminds us that in a constantly changing world, God remains the same. The psalmist declares that God has been our dwelling place “from generation to generation” and that “from everlasting to everlasting,” He is God. Everything around us shifts—cultures change, opinions change, circumstances change, and people change. It’s easy to feel unsettled by the instability and uncertainty of life. But these verses anchor us to a powerful truth: God is eternal. Before the mountains existed, before the earth was formed, God already was. And long after this moment passes, He will still remain faithful and unchanging. That means we can trust Him not just for today’s challenges, but for every season ahead. When life feels chaotic or uncertain, remember that our peace, stability, and hope are found in the eternal God who never changes. Trust God Even When It Doesn’t Make Sense | Psalm 89

Psalm 89 ends with a powerful reminder that faith is not built on understanding everything—it is built on trusting the character of God. The psalmist wrestles honestly with confusion, looking at the brokenness and difficulty around him and questioning why certain things are happening. He knows God is merciful, faithful, and true to His promises, yet life still doesn’t always make sense. But instead of walking away from God in confusion, the psalmist makes a decision to continue trusting Him anyway: “Blessed be the Lord forevermore. Amen, and amen.” There will be seasons when we cannot fully understand what God is doing or why He allows certain hardships. In those moments, we have to anchor ourselves not in what we can see, but in who God has proven Himself to be. Even when life feels confusing or painful, you can trust God to remain faithful, good, and true to His Word. episode God Keeps His Word | Psalm 89:33 artwork

God Keeps His Word | Psalm 89:33

Psalm 89 reminds us of one of the most comforting truths in all of Scripture: God keeps His word. Even after warning His people not to turn away from Him, God declares, “My lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him… My covenant will I not break.” Human beings are inconsistent, fragile, and often unfaithful, but God is not. What He promises, He fulfills. The psalm points specifically to God’s covenant with Israel, but the principle extends throughout Scripture. When God says He will save, forgive, guide, strengthen, or complete the work He began in us, we can trust Him completely. In a world full of uncertainty and broken promises, the faithfulness of God becomes a source of peace, confidence, and stability. No matter what season you are walking through today, remember this: God does what He says He will do. Sing of God’s Mercy and Faithfulness | Psalm 89:1

Psalm 89 begins with a powerful declaration: “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.” The psalmist reflects on two incredible truths about God—His mercy and His faithfulness. God’s mercy means He withholds the judgment we deserve, even though we often fail, drift, and fall short. Instead of abandoning us, He patiently calls us back to Himself with compassion and grace. And alongside His mercy is His unwavering faithfulness. While people often struggle to remain faithful, God never changes. He keeps His promises, remains steady in every season, and continues to work in the lives of His people even when circumstances are difficult. The psalmist’s response is gratitude and testimony—declaring God’s goodness not only for himself, but “to all generations.” As we experience God’s mercy and faithfulness personally, we should live in a way that points others to the same faithful God who has carried us through every season of life.
