TYLER STEWART - PRO ANGLER | Ep092 | Off The Clock with B Scott

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2325813/fan_mail/new] You can learn a lot about modern bass fishing by listening to what a touring pro worries about when things are going right. We’ve got Monster Athlete Tyler (TStew) Stewart back with us, fresh off a tournament at Douglas Lake, and we get into the real nuts and bolts of finding offshore schools when everyone has the same electronics, the same maps, and the same ideas. Tyler breaks down how he spends practice idling instead of casting, how he marks dozens of schools on points, ledges, and humps, and why “having fish” doesn’t mean you’ll have a place to fish once 150 boats hit the lake. We also go deep on one of the wildest tools in his box: the Ben Parker mag spoon. It’s huge, it’s heavy, and it still gets bites from fish smaller than the bait when those Tennessee River bass are keyed on big gizzard shad. From there we talk forward-facing sonar and LiveScope without the usual yelling. We’re honest about how much it changes tournament fishing, why cut weights have climbed, and what happens when leagues limit sonar time to a short window. Tyler shares what good and bad timing looks like, how decision-making speed separates anglers, and why it can feel like the fish are getting more educated every season. We even detour into deer hunting plans for Kansas, ground blind realities down south, and how tech in general, from GPS to Facebook “research” to AI videos, can make all of us a little lazier than we want to admit. If you like competitive bass fishing, fishing electronics, and real talk about what’s changing in the sport, hit subscribe, share this with a buddy, and leave us a review with your take: has technology made you better, or just more dependent? WE'VE BEEN BUSY!! | Ep091 | Off The Clock with B Scott

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2325813/fan_mail/new] Snow in May sounds like a joke until you are 15 hours from home, standing on a Minnesota ramp, watching it actually fall while the wind stacks up three to four foot rollers. We share what that trip taught us about smallmouth fishing and about bass boat setup when the water turns into a constant stress test. The goal was simple: catch giant brown fish and see what the H-22 jack plate does in true big-water conditions where long runs punish a bad balance point.  Then we jump to the opposite extreme, down in the Everglades and Keys zone, chasing invasive exotics like Oscars and cichlids and learning how to catch peacock bass. One tip changed everything for us: you often cannot “see” peacocks until you train your eyes to hunt for the orange fins, and once you do, the whole canal starts to light up. We also talk about bedding fish around rocks and bridges, shallow access with a jack plate, and why that style of fishing feels like a different planet from home water.  From there, it gets technical in the best way. We break down ongoing H-22 testing across different hulls, what counterweights really do, how poles dragging can cost speed, and why most boats look fast but are still running too wet with the water break pushed forward. If you care about bass boat performance, jack plate setup, prop efficiency, rough water ride, and real-world speed with a fishing load, this is the kind of shop-talk that turns into results on the lake. Subscribe, share this with your fastest boat buddy, and leave a review with the setup change you want to test next. H22 WEIGHT & WATER | Ep090 | Off The Clock with B Scott

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2325813/fan_mail/new] Mid 70 mph in a 21 foot bass boat with real gear isn’t a fantasy. We’re chasing the cleanest, most efficient setup we can on the iKon LX21 platform, and we’re sharing what’s actually moving the needle: the H22 jack plate, smart setback choices, and counterweight that shifts the balance point where it belongs. When the transom hardware drags water, you feel it everywhere from hole-shot to pad stability, and you’ll never see the top end your motor should deliver.  We walk through our baseline runs on a brand new 2026 iKon LX21, then explain why the “transition” to wide open throttle is where most rigs lose speed. From transom angle and water pressure to battery weight and bow load, we connect the small details that add up. You’ll hear how swapping AGMs to lithium changes the whole attitude of the boat, why adding weight back at the transom can be the missing piece, and how moving the water column back can free the hull and unlock RPM on the same prop.  We also compare lessons learned from the 2023 iKon LX21 build that picked up serious speed with counterweights plus the H22, and we zoom out to what this means for Havocs and other popular rigs. If you’ve spent late nights chasing props, this one might save you time and money by giving you a cleaner process: balance first, then fine tune. Subscribe, share this with a buddy who’s speed obsessed, and leave a review with your current setup and top speed so we can talk about what to try next. SURFACE DRIVES, DUCKS & DATA!! | Ep089 | Off The Clock with B Scott

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2325813/fan_mail/new] Fewer ducks. Warmer winters. Skinnier water. We brought in Josh Bradley of SeeLite to connect the dots from rig choices to resource management—and to show how small details on your motor and big decisions on the landscape shape your season. First, we get tactical. Josh breaks down his Havoc setup, why a nine and a half gallon bow tank keeps the hull flat in shallow runs, and how Mud Buddy’s 5400 won him over after years with GatorTail. We compare trim geometry that actually lifts a skeg above the transom, the new ergonomic tiller with momentary forward for safer micro-moves around spreads, and a quiet exhaust that keeps mid-range punch without the roar. Stainless skegs, belt support, gearing options, and maintenance rituals round out a no-hype guide to making a surface drive work in real flooded timber, sand, and river systems. Then we zoom out to the tough stuff. Duck numbers hinge on weather up north, water and invertebrates down south, and how we time floods across sanctuaries and WMAs. We talk transparency with Arkansas Game and Fish: publish the data, align boards and gates with clear plans, and spread hunters through access models that increase the odds of a good hunt. The timber debate gets honest—when to cut, how long recovery takes, and why roots still breathe in winter. Food becomes the pivot point: moist-soil units, rice, and the corn question. If private and northern practices hold birds, can public land add smart, marked food zones and adjacent hunting to keep Arkansas’ flooded timber relevant without bending the rules? What emerges is a blueprint: better ergonomics and torque on the stern, predictable water and targeted food on the landscape, and open data that lets the public see progress. It’s not about inside baseball or pointing fingers—it’s about making choices that bring birds back to the woods and keep new hunters coming back next year. If this conversation helps you rethink your rig or your plan, tap follow, share it with a hunting partner, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway. Your feedback helps push the conversation—and the conservation—forward. H22 JACK PLATE! | Ep088 | Off The Clock with B Scott

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2325813/fan_mail/new] Most boats don’t struggle because the driver lacks courage; they struggle because the jack plate is fighting pressurized water. We pull back the curtain on the NEW H22 jack plate and its 22-degree underside that lets spray clear the plate, cuts drag, and frees the prop to do real work. From the first throttle hit to big-end speed, we explain how a small change under the transom fixes the noisy problems—rooster tails, bow lag, and over-trim—that owners spend months trying to tune away. We break down the tradeoffs that matter: setback versus leverage, plate mass versus hole shot, and why built-in height beats chasing engine bolt holes. You’ll hear how we tested across aluminum and fiberglass hulls, what “running on the hull” actually means, and why efficiency improves when the boat lifts on its deadrise instead of tilting into dirty water. We also get practical about rigs that carry real gear: trolling motors, power poles, big graphs, and the switch from AGM to lithium. The H22 and the HB22 breakaway use optimized weight and optional counterweights so you can fine-tune balance for fishing weekends, duck seasons, or sandbar cruises without re-rigging your life. If you’ve thrown wedges and props at a stubborn setup, this conversation shows a cleaner path: fix the water, place the weight, and let the hull breathe. We talk battery placement, a new belly tank that frees stern space, and how moving a few pounds at the transom can out-muscle 80 pounds up front. The payoff is speed you can feel, steering that calms down, and stability that holds when the water turns to glass or chop. Ready to make your boat faster and easier to drive without adding horsepower? Hit play, then share your rig details with us so we can help you dial it in.
