Descripción

IN CHRIST | The Letter to the Ephesians The Apostle Paul found himself in prison and wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus. This church and this city was a launching point for Paul's ministry to the Mediterranean world, and this letter is a seminal work that provides a wonderful understanding of Paul's revolutionary theology. As a reformed Pharisee, Paul intimately knows the Hebrew Scriptures. As one who encountered the living Christ, Paul has a high Christology. And it is this dynamic combination that moves Paul to emphasize an embodied theology of being IN CHRIST. Each week we will explore a chapter - highlighting a pertinent topic. This will not be an exhaustive study of the letter to the Ephesians. It is recommended that you read along as we go. Unexpected Relationships | Film & Faith | How To Train Your Dragon

FILM & FAITH This summer at Peace, we will look at a variety of movies – from animated favorites to critical masterpieces to award-winning documentaries. Faith is not something we have in a vacuum. Faith is engaged in the world, in relationship to others, and as a source of meaning and purpose as we discern the good work that God has for us to do. Movies and film often reflect culture. From analyzing the themes and subjects of this creative art form, we can deepen our understanding of others and gain empathy. And empathy can drive us to serve and love as Christ. ____ May 31 | How To Train Your Dragon June 7 | Wake Up Dead Man June 14 | My Octopus Teacher June 21 | Remarkably Bright Creatures June 28 | Train Dreams ____   This podcast is from Peace, A United Methodist Community in Shoreview, MN.  Our intro and outro music is Unstoppable by Ketsa.
