Episode 6: Why You Feel Drained After Being Around People Have you ever left a conversation, family gathering, workplace, or even a simple outing feeling completely exhausted… even when nothing “bad” happened? In this episode, we’re talking about the emotional, mental, and energetic reasons why being around certain people can leave you feeling drained. From overstimulation and emotional overload to people-pleasing, anxiety, hypervigilance, and absorbing other people’s emotions — there’s usually more going on beneath the surface than most people realize. If you’ve ever wondered: • “Why do I need so much alone time?” • “Why do some people completely exhaust me?” • “Why do I feel emotionally heavy after social situations?” …this episode is for you. You’re not weak. You’re not antisocial. And it’s not “all in your head.” Take a breath, settle in, and let’s talk about what’s really happening. #overthinking #anxietysupport #emotionalhealing #peoplepleasing #mentalhealthpodcast

THE GRIEF NOBODY RECOGNIZES - The Loss That Comes With Aging

Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt a strange sense of loss—not because of vanity, but because life is changing? Aging brings wisdom, experience, and perspective. But it can also bring grief. Not the kind of grief we usually talk about, but the quiet grief of realizing time has passed. The grief of watching your children grow up, your body change, your parents age, your roles shift, and your life enter a new chapter. In this episode of Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind, we’re talking about a form of grief that many people experience but rarely recognize. If you’ve ever missed a younger version of yourself, wondered where the years went, or felt emotional about getting older, you’re not alone—and there’s nothing wrong with you. We’ll explore why aging can feel like a loss, why these emotions are completely normal, and how to navigate this stage of life with more compassion and understanding. If this conversation resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. I’m Lisa Tarves, and I help people make sense of what they’re feeling so they can actually feel better. REAL TALK for Your Overthinking Mind, with Lisa Tarves. #10 - My First Live Experience

REAL TALK for Your Overthinking Mind Podcast #10 I Thought More People Would Show Up… | My First Live Experience - (BACKSTAGE BEFORE AND AFTER INCLUDED!!!) Tonight I’m talking honestly about doing my very first live… and the overthinking spiral that came afterward. I went into it excited, nervous, hopeful… and then found myself wondering if I failed because only one person joined the live for a reading. But here’s the thing nobody talks about: sometimes growth feels awkward before it feels successful. In this episode, I talk about: the anxiety before going live the pressure we put on ourselves what happened during my first live overthinking after trying something brave my experiences seeing Angels as a child the work I do with clients learning in real time instead of waiting to feel “ready” And somewhere in the middle of all of that… I hit 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. And honestly, I’m still figuring out the technical side of all of this too. Sometimes I wish there were a simpler way because the uploading takes forever and the exporting takes forever. But I’m learning that creating content is a process, and every creator has to find a rhythm that works for them over time. Also… if you’re new to creating content, yes — the process can feel like a lot at first. Right now my workflow looks like this: record the video transfer and upload it into CapCut edit everything there export it back to my computer upload it to YouTube then share the link across social media And honestly? That’s pretty normal for most creators. It sounds overwhelming when you list every step out, but after you do it a few times, it becomes more routine. Most creators eventually develop their own system and shortcuts that make the process easier and faster. So maybe this episode is really about what happens when we stop measuring success only by immediate validation… and start recognizing growth while we’re still in the middle of becoming. If you’ve ever felt discouraged after trying something new, this conversation is for you. — Lisa Tarves Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind

episode “The Loneliness Nobody Talks About | Feeling Alone Even When You’re Not Alone | Episode 9” artwork

“The Loneliness Nobody Talks About | Feeling Alone Even When You’re Not Alone | Episode 9”

You can be surrounded by people… and still feel deeply alone. In this episode of "Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind, with Lisa Tarves", we talk about the kind of loneliness people rarely explain out loud — emotional loneliness. The kind that happens when you’re needed, depended on, caregiving, aging, exhausted, functioning, smiling… but internally feel unseen. This episode explores: • Feeling emotionally disconnected from the people around you • Caregiver loneliness and emotional exhaustion • The loneliness that comes with aging and changing roles • Feeling emotionally forgotten or unnoticed • Why being around people doesn’t always create emotional connection • What people actually need to feel safe, seen, and emotionally understood Sometimes people don’t need fixing. Sometimes they just need someone to notice the weight they’re carrying. If this episode speaks to something you’ve been quietly feeling, you’re not alone in that. 🎙️ Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind, with Lisa Tarves New episodes weekly. Aging, Memory....Wait...What Were We Talking About

Have you ever walked into a room and completely forgotten why you’re there? Forgotten someone’s name two seconds after hearing it? Started telling a story and somehow ended up talking about soup? Same. In this episode, we’re talking about getting older, memory changes, brain overload, mental clutter, and all the weird little things that make us stop and wonder… ‘Should I be concerned, or is this just adulthood now?’ This is a lighthearted, honest conversation about aging, overthinking, forgetting words mid-sentence, and trying to function while your brain has approximately 47 tabs open at all times. Also… I definitely forgot at least three things while recording this.” Or a shorter punchier version: “We’re talking about memory, aging, brain fog, forgotten words, walking into rooms for no reason, and the growing fear that our brains are now operating like an internet connection from 1998. A lighthearted conversation about all the things we wonder about… if we could just remember what they were

Mother’s Day Isn’t Easy for Everyone

Mother’s Day can bring up a lot more than love and celebration. For some people, it brings grief. Distance. Guilt. Anger. Loneliness. Pressure. Or the painful reminder of the relationship they wish they had. In this episode, I’m talking honestly about the complicated emotions that can surface around Mother’s Day — whether you’ve lost your mom, struggle with your relationship, feel unseen as a mother yourself, are grieving a child, or simply feel emotionally overwhelmed this time of year. You are not wrong for feeling conflicted. And you are definitely not alone. This is a grounded, supportive conversation for anyone trying to navigate the emotional weight that holidays can carry. Take a breath… and let’s talk about it. — Lisa Tarves Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind #MotherDay #EmotionalHealing #OverthinkingMind Hashtags: #mothersday #motherdaughterrelationship #emotionalhealing #overthinking #mentalhealthsupport #griefsupport #anxietysupport #familydynamics #emotionalwellness #realtalk
