Descripción

📖 Day 146 — “Grace and Consequence” 2 Samuel 12 David sinned, tried to hide it, and believed he could move forward as though nothing had happened. But God saw what was hidden and lovingly confronted him through Nathan. David confessed, and God forgave him. Yet forgiveness did not remove every consequence of his choices. This chapter reminds us of a powerful truth: God's grace is amazing, but grace does not erase responsibility. Sin leaves scars, affects others, and carries consequences. Still, even in discipline, God’s mercy continues writing the story. The good news? Failure was not the end for David—and it doesn't have to be the end for us either. Through Jesus, forgiveness and restoration are available. 🔥 Truth to Remember: God's grace forgives sin, but God's grace does not ignore sin. #TheStoryofScripture #Day146 #GraceAndConsequence #2Samuel12 #BibleReading #FaithJourney #GodsGrace #JesusChangesEverything Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 161 "Pleasure Cannot Satisfy" (Ecclesiastes 2)

Day 161 Pleasure Cannot Satisfy 📖 Ecclesiastes 2 Solomon had what most people spend their lives chasing—wealth, success, pleasure, possessions, and influence. Yet after experiencing it all, he came to a sobering conclusion: > “Behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind.” (Ecclesiastes 2:11, ESV) In today's episode, we explored four powerful truths: ✅ Solomon's great experiment with pleasure ✅ Why wealth and success ultimately fall short ✅ The spiritual void that earthly pleasures cannot fill ✅ How true joy is a gift that comes from God The world promises satisfaction through more money, more success, and more experiences. Jesus offers something far greater: > “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.” (John 4:14, ESV) Big Idea: Earthly pleasures are temporary; only God can satisfy the human heart. No achievement, possession, relationship, or experience can do what only Christ can do. The deepest longing of the human soul is ultimately fulfilled in Him. 🎧 Listen today and be reminded that true joy isn't found in the gifts—it's found in the Giver. #TheStoryOfScripture #Ecclesiastes #PastorJohn #BibleStudy #DailyDevotional #ChristianLiving #JesusSatisfies #LivingWater #FaithJourney #GodsWord #BiblePodcast #ChristianPodcast #ESVBible Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Double Portion--Episode 4--"Fire from Heaven"

🔥 NEW EPISODE AVAILABLE NOW! 🔥 Double Portion – Episode 4 📖 Fire from Heaven 1 Kings 18:20–39 On Mount Carmel, Elijah stood before a nation with a simple but powerful question: "How long will you waver between two opinions?" (1 Kings 18:21) Israel's greatest problem wasn't outright rebellion—it was a divided heart. They wanted Yahweh and Baal. Truth and compromise. Worship and idols. In this episode, we explored: 🔥 The danger of divided hearts 🔥 Why false gods always fail us 🔥 How God exposes idols and reveals His power 🔥 What modern idols look like in our lives today 🔥 How Mount Carmel points us to Jesus Christ Big Truth: God does not compete with idols; He exposes them. The same God who answered with fire on Mount Carmel is still calling His people to wholehearted devotion today. Anything that takes God's rightful place in our hearts will ultimately disappoint, but Christ alone satisfies, saves, and transforms. Take a moment today and ask yourself: ➡️ What sits on the throne of my heart? ➡️ Is there anything competing for my devotion to Christ? ➡️ Am I fully surrendered to the Lord? "The LORD, He is God! Story of Scripture--Day 160 "Life Without God is Empty" (Ecclesiastes 1)

Day 160 — Life Without God Is Empty 📖 Ecclesiastes 1 Have you ever achieved something you thought would satisfy you, only to discover it still left you wanting more? In Ecclesiastes 1, Solomon—a man who had wealth, wisdom, power, and success beyond imagination—comes to a startling conclusion: life apart from God ultimately leaves us empty. 🔹 The search for meaning cannot be fulfilled by earthly pursuits. 🔹 Life "under the sun" becomes weary when God is left out of the picture. 🔹 Human achievement, possessions, and success can never satisfy the soul. 🔹 We were created with eternity in our hearts and a longing for something greater than this world. The good news? Jesus is the answer to the emptiness Solomon describes. Christ provides the meaning, purpose, and fulfillment our hearts were created to find. ✝️ Big Idea: Life apart from God ultimately leaves us empty because we were created for Him. 📢 Listen to today's episode of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John and discover why true satisfaction is found not in what we achieve, but in who we know—Jesus Christ. #StoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #Ecclesiastes #BiblePodcast #ChristianPodcast #JesusIsEnough #Faith #BiblicalTruth #ChristianLiving #HopeInChrist #PurposeInChrist #Scripture #DailyDevotional #GodsWord #MeaningOfLife Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 159 "A Warning from God" ( 1 Kings 9)

The Story of Scripture with Pastor John Day 159 — A Warning from God 1 Kings 9 The temple was finished. The kingdom was thriving. God's blessings were evident everywhere. But instead of simply celebrating, God gave Solomon a warning: ⚠️ Blessing comes with responsibility. ⚠️ Success can create spiritual danger. ⚠️ God calls for continued faithfulness. ⚠️ Obedience protects future generations. One of the greatest dangers in the Christian life is allowing God's blessings to make us less dependent on Him. Prosperity can tempt us to trust ourselves instead of the God who provided everything we have. The good news is that where Israel failed, Jesus remained perfectly faithful. Through Christ, we receive both grace for our failures and power to walk in obedience. 🔑 Big Idea: God's blessings should deepen our faithfulness, not weaken our dependence upon Him. 🎙️ Listen now on The Story of Scripture with Pastor John and be encouraged to remain faithful in every season. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #1Kings9 #BibleStudy #Faithfulness #ChristianLiving #TrustGod #JesusChrist #DailyDevotional #Scripture Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 158 "God Fills His House" (1 Kings 8)

Day 158 — “God Fills His House” | 1 Kings 8 Today in The Story of Scripture with Pastor John, we witnessed one of the most powerful moments in Israel’s history. As Solomon dedicated the temple, the glory of the Lord filled the house of God so powerfully that the priests could not continue their ministry. What generations had anticipated had finally come to pass—God kept His promise and revealed His presence among His people. 📖 Key Truths: • God's presence is what makes His house holy. • God's promises never fail. • Worship is the natural response to God's glory. • The temple pointed forward to Jesus, the true dwelling place of God among men. Jesus fulfilled what the temple foreshadowed. Through Him, God's presence now dwells within every believer through the Holy Spirit. Today's Big Idea: ➡️ God faithfully fulfills His promises and reveals His glory among His people. "Now the LORD has fulfilled His promise that He made..." — 1 Kings 8:20 #TheStoryOfScripture #1Kings8 #GodFillsHisHouse #BiblePodcast #PastorJohn #GodsPromises #GodsGlory #JesusChrist #DailyBibleReading #FaithJourney #ScriptureTruth #ChristianLiving Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]
