To all the believers and non-believers out there, we here at the Split the Corner Podcast would like to wish you a very happy National Loch Ness Monster Day!  If you've ever wondered where Kaz and Kyle stand in relation to cryptozoology, we are prepared to put those questions to bed in this conversation.  As it has a tendency to do, the discussion takes a sharp left turn as the guys dive into some of their favorite bar traditions and superstitions.  Two dollar bills, counting tips before the shift is over, and whether or not it is bad luck to have your first pull of the tap result in an empty keg are just a few of the superstitions we're discussing today.  Who knew bartenders were such a superstitious bunch?

Season 1, Episode 20: Summer Summer Summer Time

We apologize for having to start things off this way, but today is National Sorry Day, so in keeping with that spirit, we're sorry to say that we are marking the end of the first season of the Split the Corner Podcast with today's episode.  Kaz and Kyle are taking the last episode of the season to take a look at what the summer months have meant throughout their lives and how they've changed over the years.  From concerts and music festivals to playing outside and hiding under fir trees with pinecones stuck in uncomfortable places, this is the last day of school episode before the summer break.  Don't worry, because we will be back for season 2 right after the kids go back to school.  Have a great summer, everybody, and thank you for listening to the Split the Corner Podcast!

Happy National Plant Something Day everyone!  We don't care what you're planting as long as it is something.  Today is a day to make the planet just a little bit better by getting something in the ground and waiting for that that bad boy to pop up and beautify its little corner of the world.  While that would be enough to talk about for the day, we here at Split the Corner always want to go just a step further.  Today, we are taking on the Herculean effort of covering a century of slang in just over an hour.  Starting in the 1920's, Kaz and Kyle are take a trip through the decades to discuss some of the best and worst slang words to ever see the light of day.  So for this episode, grab your bae and chillax, put your gams up, make sure you're looking extra drippy, and lock in for this episode that is guaranteed to be extra.  No cap.

It is National " YA DIG" day here on today's episode of the Split the Corner Podcast and we have now gotten to the point where it is possible that some of these national days are trying just a little too hard.  YA DIG day is definitely one of those days.  While an acronym promoting positivity, Kaz and Kyle dive into why this one may just be a bridge too far.  Once we've gotten all of that out of our systems, we are throwing it back to an episode where the guys discussed nerd culture and things that may be seen by people on the outside as "nerdy".  We realized after releasing that episode, that Kaz and Kyle never really dove into any of their own nerdier preferences.  That curtain is getting pulled way the hell back today as we are jumping head first into used church puppets, online wrestling federations, booze, and sports.  Bring on the pocket protectors and asthma inhalers because the STC nerd cat is out of the bag!

Season 1, Episode 17: The First of What Will Probably be a Bunch of Episodes About Concerts

If you're listening to this episode on the day it came out, Cinco de Mayo, maybe give it another listen after the margaritas have all made their way out of your system.  For anyone celebrating, a very happy Cinco de Mayo to you all and we hope you are prepared to hear a little bit more about why bartenders don't necessarily circle this day on their calendars as something to look forward to.  Additionally, we are also celebrating National Concert Day which something very near and dear to both Kaz and Kyle.  We're talking about first concerts, the parking lot experience, and the lyrical aptitude of Jimmy Buffet.  And, in what could quite possibly be the most heated exchange we've ever had here on STC, Kaz and Kyle dive head first into a debate surrounding the emotional ranges you can go to during a 28-minute face-melter of a jam vs. a set of lyrics that perfectly encapsulate a moment in your timeline.  Which side of the fence are you coming down on?  Figure it out during what promises to be the first of many episodes covering concerts on this week's edition of the Split the Corner Podcast.

Season 1, Episode 16: Football Movies Should Have Football in Them

On today's episode of the Split the Corner Podcast, we are celebrating National Superhero Day!  We're diving into Kaz and Kyle's personal favorite superheroes, what super powers they would want, and why the power to speak and understand every language on earth might be helpful, but would make for a magnificently boring movie.  After that, we're diving back into our STC greatest sports movies of all time list and concentrating on the ol' pigskin.  That's right, we are pulling out our favorite football movies and, believe it or not, it is the most hotly contested debate to date.  Kaz makes some pretty strong points on why there should be football movies in football while Kyle thinks taking place in a football front office should be enough.  What side of the fence do you land on?  Let us know after you enjoy this episode of the Split the Corner Podcast.  Cheers!
