Good morning beachgoers, it's Saturday, June 6th, and we've got the full breakdown on what's waiting for you in the water today and beyond. Let's start with the Maryland Beaches around Ocean City and Assateague. We're looking at two to three foot surf with moderate rip current risk in effect from eight this morning through this evening. The water's sitting in the mid 60s, so you'll want to think about a wetsuit if you're sensitive to the cold. It's going to be mostly sunny until around two PM, then clouds roll in. Highs in the mid 80s with light southwest winds around ten miles per hour. The sun's intense today too, so UV index is very high. Low tide hits Ocean City Fishing Pier at six thirty-one in the morning, with high tide at twelve twenty-six PM. Moving down the coast to Accomack and Northampton, which covers Chincoteague and the barrier islands, we've got similar conditions. Two to three foot surf with that moderate rip current risk in effect through this evening. Water's mid 60s, highs in the lower 80s, and southwest winds a bit stronger at ten to fifteen miles per hour. Low tide at Wachapreague comes in at seven thirteen AM, high at one sixteen PM. Now if you're heading to Virginia Beach and Sandbridge, here's some good news. The rip current risk there is low today, so it's a bit safer for swimmers. Same two to three foot surf, mid 60s water, but this area's going to see highs around ninety degrees. Light southwest winds around ten miles per hour. It's going to stay mostly sunny all day. Up in the Outer Banks at Currituck, we're looking at low rip current risk as well. Two to three foot surf, upper 60s water, mostly sunny skies, mid 80s for highs, and southwest winds around ten miles per hour. Tomorrow, Sunday, conditions stay relatively consistent across the board. Moderate rip current risk continues at the Maryland beaches and Accomack-Northampton areas, while Virginia Beach and Currituck remain at low risk. Expect two to three foot surf everywhere, mostly sunny weather, and highs in the low to mid 80s. Winds lighten up to around five to ten miles per hour, so it's shaping up to be a beautiful day. Now let's look ahead to next week. Monday's going to bring some changes. We're expecting two to five foot surf at some locations, particularly down the coast. It'll be sunny but noticeably cooler with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Northeast winds pick up to around fifteen miles per hour. This is when we could see some dangerous breaking waves, so keep an eye out for upgraded rip current risk. Tuesday stays mostly sunny with two to four foot surf. Highs rebound to the lower to upper 70s depending on location. Southeast winds around five to ten miles per hour keep things mellow. Wednesday brings partly sunny skies and two to three foot surf across most areas. Highs in the mid to lower 80s. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the southern areas, so keep that in mind if you're planning an all-day session. The big reminder for the extended forecast is this: when surf heights exceed four feet, you're typically looking at dangerous breaking waves and potentially moderate to high rip current risk. So if you're heading out Monday through Wednesday, check the forecast again before you go and respect the ocean's power. Stay safe out there, watch for those rip currents today and tomorrow on the Maryland and eastern shore beaches, and have fun in the water. Virginia and North Carolina Beach Forecast: Perfect Saturday Ahead with Sunny Skies and Two to Three Foot Waves

Good morning beach lovers! Let's dive into what's shaping up for the Virginia and North Carolina coastline this weekend. Today is looking absolutely stellar out there. We're talking mostly sunny to sunny skies across the board, with calm conditions and low rip current risk. The Maryland beaches and Virginia Beach are expecting surf heights around two feet, while the Eastern Shore and Outer Banks are pretty much the same story. Water temperatures are hovering in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees, so a wetsuit might be your friend if you're sensitive to the cold. Now here's the thing – and I want you to pay attention to this – we've got a very high UV index today. That means sunscreen is not optional, folks. We're looking at heat indices climbing up to 104 degrees down in Virginia Beach, so hydration is absolutely critical. Southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour should provide some relief, but this is serious heat. Stay safe out there. Saturday is going to be a beauty. Conditions improve with mostly sunny skies, and we're looking at a slight bump in surf heights to two to three feet, which should make for some interesting conditions depending on where you are. The winds are shifting to the north and northeast, creating a slightly different wave pattern. It'll be a touch cooler with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s, making for much more comfortable beach time. Looking ahead to the extended outlook, Sunday brings a chance of showers and some thunderstorm activity developing, particularly down toward the Outer Banks and Virginia Beach. Surf heights stay in that one to three foot range, so nothing too aggressive. Highs in the mid 80s should feel pleasant compared to today's heat. Monday is going to be partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms remaining possible, especially in the southern zones. Surf continues at two to three feet with highs in the lower 80s. The winds shift back to the north, so that'll keep things relatively settled. By Tuesday, we're looking at mostly cloudy skies with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Surf heights drop back to around two feet, and highs settle into the upper 70s. This is when you really want to be thinking about what's going on with the weather before you head out. The bottom line for this weekend is this: today is absolutely scorching with excellent conditions in the water but brutal heat on the beach. Saturday is going to be your golden ticket – comfortable conditions, decent waves, and much more manageable temperatures. Just remember that if you ever venture into the water, rip currents can develop near structures like groins, jetties, and piers even when the risk is low. Get out there and make the most of this weekend! For more http://www.quietplease.ai Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

Virginia Beach Outer Banks Surf Forecast Small Waves Upper Eighties Heat Index Over 100 Degrees Today

Good morning, this is your surf zone forecast for Virginia and the Outer Banks, brought to you by the National Weather Service Wakefield. Starting with the Maryland Beaches including Ocean City and Assateague, we're looking at small but consistent waves today. You can expect surf heights of two to three feet with a low rip current risk. The water is chilly at upper sixties, so if you're planning a dip, you might want to bring a wetsuit. We're forecasting partly sunny skies with southwest winds around ten miles per hour. High temperatures will reach the upper eighties, though the heat index could climb to around one hundred four degrees, so stay hydrated out there. The UV index is very high today, which means sunscreen is absolutely essential. At Ocean City Fishing Pier, low tide hits at ten thirty-two in the morning, with high tide rolling in around five in the evening. Moving down to the Virginia Eastern Shore at Accomack and Northampton, including Chincoteague and Wallops Island, conditions remain quite similar. Two to three foot waves today with mostly sunny weather, though a bit milder in the mid eighties. Southwest winds around ten miles per hour will keep things pleasant, and the water temperature sits in the upper sixties. Low tide at Wachapreague comes at eleven twenty-five in the morning. Over at Virginia Beach and Sandbridge, the forecast stays consistent with two to three foot surf and low rip current risk. However, it's noticeably warmer here with highs in the lower nineties and a heat index potentially reaching one hundred six degrees. The water is a bit more comfortable at around seventy degrees. Southwest winds will shift to the south in the afternoon. Low tide occurs at ten thirty-one in the morning, with high tide at five oh three in the evening. Finally, up at the Outer Banks in Currituck County, we're expecting around two foot waves under sunny skies. Highs in the upper eighties with that heat index reaching one hundred five degrees. The water here is the coolest at mid-sixties, and southwest winds will be a bit stronger at ten to fifteen miles per hour. Looking ahead to Friday, we see a consistent pattern across all beaches. Surf heights drop to around two feet with mostly sunny to sunny conditions. Rip current risk remains low everywhere. Expect slightly stronger heat indices, particularly at Virginia Beach and Currituck where we could see one hundred six and one hundred four degrees respectively. Southwest winds will be lighter, running five to ten miles per hour. For the extended period, Saturday brings us mostly sunny weather with around two foot surf. Things cool down a bit with highs in the lower eighties and north winds around five to ten miles per hour. Sunday introduces the possibility of showers and thunderstorms across all areas with two to three foot waves expected and south winds returning around ten miles per hour. By Monday, we're back to partly sunny skies with another chance of showers, particularly at Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks where thunderstorms are possible. Surf heights remain around two feet and highs settle in the mid eighties. Remember, even with low rip current risk, life-threatening rip currents can still occur near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers. So exercise caution in those areas. Stay sun-safe, stay hydrated, and we'll see you at the beach. For more http://www.quietplease.ai Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

Good morning, this is your Virginia and North Carolina beach forecast for Wednesday, June 10th through Sunday, June 14th, 2026. Let's start with today. If you're thinking about heading to the beach, listen up because there's a moderate rip current risk in effect from 8 AM this evening. We're looking at surf heights between 2 to 3 feet across all our coastal areas, so the waves should be manageable. The water temperature is sitting in the upper 60s, so you might want to bring a wetsuit or at least be prepared for that initial shock when you wade in. For those in Maryland, Ocean City and Assateague can expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers, and highs will reach the upper 70s. Down in Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore, temperatures will be a bit warmer in the mid 80s with just a slight chance of showers. The Outer Banks will see highs in the lower 80s with mostly cloudy conditions as well. Winds will be generally out of the south between 10 and 20 miles per hour depending on your location. Now here's the good news. Thursday is shaping up to be a beautiful day at the beach. The rip current risk drops to low, meaning conditions will be much safer for swimmers. Skies will be mostly sunny across the board, and this is where things get toasty. Virginia Beach is forecasted to reach the lower 90s with a heat index potentially climbing to 104 degrees. Ocean City will hit the upper 70s, while the Eastern Shore will see mid 80s and the Outer Banks upper 80s. Winds will be lighter, mainly out of the southwest. Looking ahead to Friday, we're maintaining that mostly sunny pattern with surf heights around 2 feet. Highs will range from the lower 80s to the lower 90s depending on where you are. It's going to be another warm one, so remember your sunscreen and stay hydrated. Saturday continues the sunny trend with highs in the lower 80s. Winds will shift to the north at around 10 miles per hour, which could bring slightly cooler air. Surf heights will remain around 2 feet. We wrap up the week on Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70s. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, particularly later in the day, and surf heights will bump up slightly to 2 to 3 feet. Winds will be out of the south around 10 miles per hour. One important reminder for our beach lovers. While our forecasted surf heights are only 2 to 3 feet, rip currents can occur near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers even in calm conditions, so always be aware of your surroundings and never hesitate to ask lifeguards about current conditions before you enter the water. Have a great day at the beach and stay safe out there. For more http://www.quietplease.ai Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

Good morning, this is your Tuesday surf zone forecast for the Virginia and North Carolina coast. We're looking at moderate rip current conditions affecting all our beaches today, so swimmers and waders need to exercise caution and be aware of these potentially dangerous currents. Let's start up north at the Maryland beaches. Ocean City and Assateague are seeing two to three foot waves this morning under partly sunny skies. Water temperatures are in the mid-60s, so a wetsuit might still feel pretty good. Winds are light out of the south at five to ten miles per hour. The UV index is very high today, so don't forget your sunscreen. High temperatures should reach the lower 70s. At Ocean City Fishing Pier, expect low tide around 8:50 in the morning with high tide arriving at 3:10 in the afternoon. Surf flattens to around two feet. Highs remain in the lower to upper 80s depending on your location. Southwest winds stay calm around five to ten miles per hour. Saturday wraps up the weekend nicely with mostly sunny skies and light winds. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns, but nothing significant. Surf stays at two feet or less. Highs will be in the upper 70s to mid-80s depending on your beach. Remember, the moderate rip current risk is in effect from 8 this morning through this evening. If you find yourself caught in a rip current, stay calm, don't panic, and swim parallel to the shore to escape it. Have a great day at the beach. episode Virginia Beach and Outer Banks High Rip Current Risk Monday, Three to Five Foot Surf and Dangerous Shore Break artwork

Virginia Beach and Outer Banks High Rip Current Risk Monday, Three to Five Foot Surf and Dangerous Shore Break

Good morning! Here's your Monday surf report for the Virginia and North Carolina coast. If you're heading to the beach today, listen up because conditions are getting serious out there. We've got a HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK in effect from now through this evening at Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks, with MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK for the Maryland beaches and the barrier islands down in Accomack and Northampton counties. Starting down in the Outer Banks, surfers and swimmers need to be extra cautious. We're looking at three to five foot surf heights with some seriously dangerous shore break conditions. That shore break can cause neck and spinal injuries even for experienced swimmers, so beach goers should exercise extreme caution when entering the water. Winds are coming from the northeast around fifteen to twenty miles per hour, and water temps are in the upper sixties. It's going to be sunny with a very high UV index, so don't forget that sunscreen. Moving up to Virginia Beach and Sandbridge, conditions aren't quite as intense but still warrant respect. Expect three to four foot surf with that HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK in place. Water temperature there is right around seventy degrees, a bit warmer than the Banks. Northeast winds around twenty miles per hour, sunny skies, and again, very high UV. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect, so take the warnings seriously. The barrier islands between Cape Charles and the Maryland border are looking at two to four foot surf with a MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK. Water temps are slightly warmer, upper sixties to near seventy. Northeast winds around twenty miles per hour with sunny conditions throughout the day and highs in the upper sixties. Over in Maryland at Ocean City and Assateague, we've also got that MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK. Surf heights are two to four feet with northeast winds around twenty miles per hour. It'll be sunny with highs in the upper sixties and water temps in the mid sixties. Looking ahead to Tuesday, conditions improve slightly across the board. The Outer Banks drop to a MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK with two to four foot surf. Virginia Beach also eases to MODERATE risk with similar surf heights. Maryland and the barrier islands maintain MODERATE risk but see slightly smaller surf of two to three feet. Winds shift to the southeast and east at five to ten miles per hour, making for a much calmer day. Highs climb into the seventies and low eighties. The extended forecast shows improving conditions mid-week through Friday. Wednesday brings two to four foot surf with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid seventies to mid eighties depending on location. Thursday and Friday continue the trend with mostly sunny skies, just slight chances of showers and thunderstorms, and highs ranging from the low eighties to low nineties. Surf continues to diminish through the period, dropping to around two feet by Friday. Bottom line: Today demands respect for the water. If you're a strong swimmer, stay alert for rip currents. If you're unsure of your abilities, consider watching from the beach instead. Tuesday and beyond are looking much more inviting, so patience may be your best friend today.
