The Early Sessions
Session 362: Cosmic Breakdown and Ego Reboots Welcome back to the cosmic lounge, everyone. Grab a seat and relax while we dive into the deep end of the pool with some vintage Seth. We’re looking at Session 362 from The Early Sessions Book 8 of the Seth Material, recorded on the night of September 11, 1967. In this session, Jane Roberts channels Seth for her husband Robert (Joseph) and their guest, a drug salesman named John Bradley. The vibe is heavy on psychological reconstruction and some pretty wild psychic detective work. The Bernard Files: Don’t Skip Leg Day (or Ego Day) The session kicks off with some real talk about a friend named Gene Bernard. Gene was apparently trying to find a spiritual "shortcut" and ended up glitching his own reality. Seth breaks down the situation with a mix of medical advice and high-level metaphysics. * The Physical Glitch: Before getting all "woo-woo," Seth points out that Gene’s body is struggling. We’re talking a major Vitamin D deficiency, flaking skin, and potential hair loss. The fix? A better diet, more protein, and three to five glasses of plain water daily. * The Ego Trap: Gene tried to ditch his ego using drugs to find enlightenment. Seth basically says he fired his manager before he had a replacement. * The Monarch Metaphor: Seth explains the psychological mess perfectly: "He toppled his monarch, had no replacement, and opened his kingdom to ruin." * The 3-Month Outlook: Recovery isn't instant. A new ego has to grow slowly, like a child’s. Seth predicts a "noticeable improvement" within about three months as a new "central core of personality" takes the wheel. * The Reality Check: Seth reminds us that while physical reality is a "mirage," it’s one you have to deal with. You can't just hop out of the "craft" in mid-stream without a vehicle to travel in. Psychic Hits and Family Secrets After dragging Gene’s lifestyle choices, Seth turns his attention to John Bradley (whom Seth calls Philip). This part of the session gets into specific, almost "detective-style" data points. * Random Data Points: Seth throws out some oddly specific clues: a room on a third floor, the letters S-C-R-E-W, a Washington D.C. connection, and the number 1521. * The "My-barrow" Mystery: Seth mentions a name or place sounding like "My-barrow" where the shades are usually down. * The Stocky Woman: Seth picks up on a woman in her fifties, stocky build, with a message about a "change of plan." After the session, John realized this fit two people: a long-lost friend of his mother named Laura Bittner and his wife's Aunt Catherine. Deep Thoughts from the Session To illustrate just how deep Seth gets, check out these nuggets of wisdom regarding the nature of the self: * "The ego indeed is part of the soul. It is one of the voices of the soul." * "He cut off his ego to save his soul, and nearly lost both in the bargain." * "It is now important that he relearn the objective nature of your reality, the simple sanity of an apple as an apple."
