Descripción

We have all walked into an interview and known, somewhere deep down, that something was off. Maybe we were unprepared. Maybe we were unwell. Maybe we clicked on the wrong link and panicked. And maybe we told our manager something we probably should have held back a little longer. In this episode, I'm doing something a little different. Inspired by one of my all-time favourite podcasts, How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, I'm sharing three of my most epic interview failures and what they genuinely taught me about women's careers, preparation, self-awareness, and integrity. I'm Kamila, a Business Psychologist and coach, and I believe that career confidence for women is not built in the smooth moments. It's built in the messy ones. From getting motion sick in a skyscraper lift on the way to an interview I was already late for, to sitting through a grilling I had no business being in because I was unwell and unprepared, to verbally accepting a job offer and telling my manager too soon, these are the real stories. Each one taught me something I could never have learned from a perfect performance. This episode is for every woman navigating her career who has ever felt embarrassed, caught off guard, or like she has made an irreversible mistake. You have not. Sometimes the failure is the lesson. No One Told You Your Cycle Affects Your Career: Women, Stress and Work

We have been taught to push through, show up the same way every single day, and treat our biology as an inconvenience. But what if ignoring our bodies is exactly what is holding us back? In this episode I sit down with Dr. Hanne, clinical psychologist and founder of Thea Psychology, a practice built entirely for women, and we get into something that most advice around women's careers completely skips over. Where are you in your cycle? What is happening in your nervous system? What do your hormonal changes actually mean for how you lead, decide, and show up under stress? These are the questions that changed everything for me. We also get honest about the double bind so many women are navigating at work. Be warm and you are not taken seriously. Be direct and you are difficult. Be emotional and you lose the project. Women's careers are still being judged on personality rather than performance, and that bias lives in all of us, not just in the people above us. Dr. Hanne and I talk about why that happens, what organisations can actually do about it, and how understanding your menstrual cycle and nervous system might be the most underrated tool for your wellbeing and career growth. Your body was never the obstacle. It has always been the map. More Women Are Choosing to Stay Single: Self-Worth, Relationships & Modern Dating

For years, women were taught that love, marriage, and motherhood were the ultimate markers of success. But what happens when a woman chooses to be single, especially in her thirties? This is an honest conversation about relationships, self-worth, emotional wellbeing, independence, and identity outside partnership. I talk about the difference between loneliness and emotional peace, why relationship quality matters more than relationship status, and how many women are no longer willing to sacrifice themselves just to meet social timelines around marriage and motherhood. This episode is for anyone questioning relationship timelines, or whether fulfilment can exist outside traditional partnership. Burnout Recovery: My First Panic Attack, the Red Flags I Ignored and What Actually Helped

Seven years ago this week, I had my first panic attack on a packed train to Waterloo. I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought I just needed a few days off and I'd be fine. I was wrong. In this episode, I'm going back to that moment and sharing everything I wish someone had told me about burnout recovery before my body made the decision for me. I talk about the red flags I ignored for years, the shame I carried for not being "strong enough," and the job, and the identity crisis that all fed into it. I also share the five stage burnout model that finally helped me understand what was happening to me, and a simple visualisation exercise that I wish I'd had back then to check in with myself before things fell apart. If you've ever pushed through exhaustion and called it ambition, if you've ever wondered whether what you're feeling is burnout or just weakness, this one is for you.

Not Sure You Want Kids: Motherhood, Doubt and Trusting Yourself

If you have ever been asked when you are having children and felt something complicated rise up in you, grief, guilt, anger, or just a quiet "I don't know", this episode is for you. I have been sitting with this question for most of my adult life, and today I am finally saying the thing out loud that took me years to arrive at. I grew up in Poland, where the path for girls like me was never really a question. Education, marriage, and children. And even after I left, even after I disagreed with all of it, I still felt its shape around me. This episode is the story of how I untangled what I actually wanted from what I had been raised to want, and what I found when I finally stopped waiting for the doubt to disappear. I also bring in the research, because the data on childfree women, parental regret, and overcoming societal expectations is something more of us deserve to hear. This is not an episode telling you what to choose. It is an invitation to ask yourself the honest question, and to trust what comes up before your brain has a chance to edit it. Because your answer belongs to you, and you do not owe anyone an explanation. episode Stop Talking Yourself Out of It: Self-Doubt, Neurodiversity, and Going After What You Want artwork

Stop Talking Yourself Out of It: Self-Doubt, Neurodiversity, and Going After What You Want

Seeing a job and deciding not to apply, because you do not tick 100% of the criteria. That moment is not a lack of ambition. It is something far more ingrained, and it is exactly what this episode is about when it comes to women's careers. I am joined by Liss Owen, CEO of Open Door Scotland, supporting young people experiencing homelessness, and a political candidate standing for Scottish Parliament. Liss made a significant leap from middle manager to CEO in less than a year, and she brings a refreshingly honest lens to women at work, neurodiversity, imposter syndrome, and what it takes to back yourself when the system was not designed with you in mind. Together, we explore how masking and fawning show up in high-stakes moments like interviews and debates, and what it means to find a role that works for how your brain is wired. Drawing on my background as a Business Psychologist and coach, I weave in research on career confidence and the ways societal conditioning holds women back from going after the opportunities they are more than ready for. This episode is personal development for women who are done talking themselves out of the roles they actually want. Women's careers do not have to be linear to be powerful. Because your next role might be the one you almost talked yourself out of.
