Acts 19 - Do You Really Know Jesus? With Kenzie Wrzesinski from Gateway South AustinActs 19 tells the story of Paul's ministry in the city of Ephesus. Paul arrives in Ephesus and encounters some disciples who had only received the baptism of John the Baptist and were not yet aware of the Holy Spirit. Paul explains to them the full message of Jesus and baptizes them in the name of Jesus. As they are baptized, the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they begin speaking in tongues and prophesying. For two years God works through Paul to perform many miracles, and people bring handkerchiefs and aprons from his body to the sick, who are then healed. Exorcists attempt to cast out evil spirits in the name of Jesus, using Paul's name as well, but the evil spirit recognizes their lack of authority and overpowers them, causing them to flee in fear. This story causes many in Ephesus to fear the name of Jesus and the power of God.#newtestament #acts #jesus #faith #spirituality #christianity #mission #outreach #bless #holyspirit

Acts 21 - Are You Willing to Follow Jesus In Spite of the Risks?

Acts 21 - Are You Willing to Follow Jesus In Spite of the Risks? With Ashley Shenk from Gateway South Austin Paul and his traveling companions leave Ephesus in order to go to Jerusalem. His friends warn him not to go. Just as Jesus made his way to Jerusalem in spite of the danger, Paul had the same attitude. He was willing to die for his faith if necessary. The leaders in Jerusalem celebrate with Paul as he shares the news of so many Gentiles coming to Christ. The early church is not trying to end Judaism. They see following Jesus as the fulfillment of the Hebrew Scriptures. The rumors persist and an angry mob seize Paul. Some are trying to kill him so the Roman authorities come in to stop the rioting. Paul considers this a great opportunity to tell the angry crowd about Jesus. #newtestament #acts #bless #jesus #faith #spirituality #christianity #outreach #mission
