Day 157: Proverbs 10-12
We continue our Walk Through History today as we turn to Proverbs 10 through 12. In these chapters, we step into a collection of short, powerful sayings that contrast wisdom and foolishness, righteousness and wickedness, truth and deception. Each proverb offers practical guidance for everyday life—how we speak, how we work, how we treat others, and how we walk with integrity. As you listen, pay attention to the patterns that emerge and consider how these timeless truths speak into your own decisions, attitudes, and relationships today.
Day 156: Proverbs 7-9
Welcome back to Day 156 of our journey through Scripture. Today we’re diving into Proverbs 7 through 9, where wisdom and folly are set side by side, calling out for our attention. These chapters paint a vivid picture of the consequences of our choices, warning us about temptation while inviting us to pursue wisdom, understanding, and discernment. As you listen, consider which voice you are following in your daily life—the path that leads to life or the one that leads you astray—and ask God to guide your heart toward His truth and wisdom.
Day 155: Proverbs 4-6
Welcome to Day 155 of our walk through Scripture. Today we’re resting in Proverbs 4 through 6, a powerful collection of wisdom that calls us to guard our hearts, stay on the path of righteousness, and live with intention. These chapters remind us that what we allow into our hearts shapes the direction of our lives, urging us to pursue wisdom, avoid destructive choices, and remain faithful in our relationships. We’re cautioned against shortcuts and temptations that may look appealing but ultimately lead to harm, while also being encouraged to live with diligence, integrity, and discipline. As you listen today, reflect on the kind of path you’re walking and the condition of your heart—because the choices you make today are shaping the life you’ll live tomorrow.
Day 154: Proverbs 1-3
Welcome back! Today is Day 154, and we’re beginning a new journey—one centered on wisdom, understanding, and insight. Today, we open the book of Proverbs, starting with chapters 1 through 3. These verses invite us to listen closely, to seek guidance, and to grow in discernment as we navigate our daily lives. So, wherever you are, take a moment to settle in, open your heart, and let’s step into wisdom together. Let’s begin.
Day 153: Song of Solomon
Welcome back to Walk Through History. Today is Day 153, and our journey brings us to one of the most unique and beautifully poetic books of the Bible—the Song of Solomon. Every time I come to this book, it brings back a memory that always makes me smile. Years ago, I worked with a ministry where we would begin each day by reading Scripture together for the first 15 minutes. We read through almost every book… except Song of Solomon. There was this sweet older man—kind, faithful, and full of love for the Lord—who simply didn’t feel comfortable reading this “spicier” book of the Bible out loud in a group with young women. And so, we skipped it together. He has since gone home to be with Jesus, but now whenever I read Song of Solomon, I think of him and smile—remembering both his sincerity and the way Scripture can meet us in such human, relatable moments. Today, as we read, we’re reminded that this book celebrates love—deep, passionate, covenant love—and ultimately points us to the beauty of God’s love as well. So let’s lean in, read with open hearts, and continue our walk through history together.
