The story I used to hide as a couples therapist: while I spent years helping couples repair - my own marriage ended. Anxious attachment does not change with just  knowledge. I could not shift with insight alone - not even couples therapy did it for me. I knew something was missing because I saw the same wall in about 20% percent of my clients who pursued hard but stayed stuck. After my divorce I sought different support, and started to figure out the missing links: I learned to calm my body, take ownership, and practice small secure reps that changed everything.
