My protector wants to act.” * Anchor your body: give yourself physical support - hand on heart or hold your own hand. * Step away if possible. * Breathe: in for 4, out for 6, three times. * Speak to the part: “Thank you for trying to help. I am safe. I can handle this.” From there, identify the need, ask cleanly, or wait until you are truly available for connection. Over time the protector relaxes because it trusts you to lead.
