What are the Problems with an Infinitely Old Universe?
Years ago, I used to buy firewood from a man—let's call him Lenny—and he was a real character. When Lenny found out I was a Bible-believing Christian, he loved throwing me "gotcha" questions. One day, he asked, "How do we know the universe hasn't always been here?" I replied, "Do you mean an infinitely old universe?" "Yup!" he said. "Well," I told him, "there are two ways I can show you that's not the case." I explained both points, asking questions along the way to make sure we were tracking together. When I finished, it was clear he understood. He leaned back and said, "You just blew my mind." So what exactly did I say to Lenny? That's what I'll be sharing in this episode of Bereus. In A Minute for the Image of God, Ryan talks about Genesis 9:6.
What is Intelligent Design?
Years ago, a coworker of mine made a comment about intelligent design. He said it was just creationism repackaged—specifically, young earth creationism. That sentiment is pretty common, but it's also a major misunderstanding of what intelligent design actually is. So, what is intelligent design? Find out in this Episode of Bereus. In A Minute for the Image of God, Ryan explores Ephesians 4:15 and what it means to speak the truth in love.
What are the Problems with Theistic Evolution?
As Christians, we look to both Scripture and creation to understand the world around us. Over the years, believers have held a variety of views on how God brought everything into being—one of those views is theistic evolution. But what exactly is it? And does it hold up under scrutiny? Find out in this Episode of Bereus. In A Minute for the Image of God, Ryan covers James 3:8-9.
How Should Believers Use AI?
Hello, Bereus listeners—this is Ryan. I want to let you know that I'm adding this episode as a bonus to our current science and faith series. I'm addressing a simple but important question: How Should Believers Use AI? I'm inserting this episode now for three reasons. First, I see this as a topic that we, as Christians, should be well-educated on. Second, I want to offer a clear starting point for that education. And third, the topic is relevant now. AI has, and is shaping how we live and work. I'll explain exactly what I mean in this episode of Bereus.
What is Old Earth Creationism?
One common misconception is that all creationist Christians believe the earth was created in six literal 24-hour days and is only about six thousand years old. But that's not the only perspective. Old Earth Creationists take a broader view of the age of the Earth and also the universe. So what exactly does that mean? Let's explore it in this episode of Bereus. In A Minute for the Image of God, Ryan discusses what it means to love your enemy as stated in Matthew 5:43-44.
