Mercy is God withholding the wrath we deserve, while grace gives us what we don't deserve. Jesus perfectly demonstrated mercy throughout His ministry and ultimately at the cross, taking upon Himself the punishment we deserved. As recipients of God's rich mercy, which is renewed every morning, we are called to extend that same mercy to others. This happens through forgiving those who have wronged us and showing kindness to those in need. Living mercifully requires intentionality - keeping our eyes open for opportunities to help others and respond when God prompts us to act. When Jesus promised that the meek would inherit the earth, He meant they receive everything that truly matters - the Holy Spirit's power, salvation, and an eternal inheritance that is imperishable and secured by God's power.
