Kuvaus

Recently, Tracey & I got the chance to meet a really wonderful young man named Oscar Mepham, who comes all the way from the country of Denmark. Oscar is a hiker on the American Discovery Trail who started walking on the East Coast with the goal of reaching the West Coast within 10-12 months. We got the chance to sit down with him and talk about why he decided to do such an ambitious thing as well as Oscar's life journey. We think it's a beautiful story of how God's love met a young man walking on the road and gave him a family he never knew existed. Do you have a question, comment, or feedback for us? What Is Hope?

Happy New Year!!! We're back in 2024 with a brand new season of content and interviews to help you walk through life's challenging circumstances, while trusting in the goodness of God. In this episode we ask the question: What is the essence of your hope in life? Did you know the word "hope" has a much deeper meaning than what you have been used to? We pray this talk encourages you to remember that hope isn't just a wish, but a relentless dependence upon God and His nature. Reflection Questions: 1. Are you a naturally hopeful person or does it take work? 2. Does your hope reflect culture’s definition or the biblical definition? 3. What is something you are hoping for in your life? Romans 5:2-5 TPT: "Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory! But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!"

Death of a Fisherman Book Review

This week on the podcast, I (Frank) share my review of the book "Death of a Fisherman: A Memoir of Family, Faith, and Forgiveness" by David Zailer. To say that this book has been instrumental in my grief journey is truly an understatement. This book found me at a time when I was truly navigating through questions and pain over the tragic circumstances that surrounded my mom's death. David's recount of his life through this book really engaged me in a way and I couldn't put it down. I also share some recent thoughts on grief that I've been navigating through and I hope they'll be an encouragement to you or someone you know. Do you have a question, comment, or feedback for us? Truth to Remember When Battling Depression

This week on Hope Arise, Frank shares a recent message where he talked on the subject of depression. Believe it or not, depression is still widely misunderstood in our culture, and especially within the Church. Whether you have personal experience with depression or know someone who does, we believe this to be a very relevant message for our day and pray that you will be both encouraged and challenged by the hope and truth that Frank shares. Hope or Nope? How to Make Your Life Count for Eternity

Are we allowing what we walk through in life to turn us back to Hope? This kind of hope isn't the kind that "hopes" for the promotion. Or "hopes" that it doesn't rain today. This kind of hope is the joyful expectation of good. It's the understanding that if my story doesn't end up good, it's not over yet. It's the knowing that all of the struggle, pain, discomfort (you name it) that you're walking through isn't meaningless. This week, Frank shares how you can walk in consistent, steadfast hope every day of your life. Do you have a question, comment, or feedback for us?
