He trains, he teaches class, he beats that ass, relentlessly giving people migraines. Tyler King is NOT here for the MMA Report. Tyler firmly believes his job, and time are much more important than anyone else's. Because he is better than you and have to kiss the ring! However, in his place we have Jiu Jitsu star, coach, currently fighting in the PGF, Mr. Shawn Melanson. The best performer on the Philadelphia Phenoms, we hear his journey and why he is focused on Jiu Jitsu. Shawn brings you expert insight, analysis and entertainment. He started in Jiu Jitsu right around the age of 18. A standout wrestler, football player, a natural athlete. Shawn talks about his cousins teaching him Jiu Jitsu, which he said consisted of getting knocked around by them. Originally, Shawn trained for a career in MMA, had several battles in the octagon and carried a 3-1 record. I give him a lot of credit because Shawn was thinking about the long-term impact of an MMA. Shawn completely changed his direction into Jiu Jitsu. You will hear about his rise. In the New England area, it's not exactly flush with opportunities. For years, Shawn worked hard, trained harder, continued to win earning a name for himself. He won multiple Superfights, competitions, and is considered a top black belt in the region after taking on the best Jiu Jitsu athletes in the world. Shawn built a massive following on social media; he credits it to instructional video's fans see him use exactly what he teaches to get submissions. My take is Shawn is smart, outspoken, tough as nails. In his first season with PGF as part of the Philadelphia Phenoms, Shawn leads the team with 24 points and is in 7th place which qualifies him for the individual playoffs. A big personality, highly entertaining, and a true talent of Jiu Jitsu, with a wife and new baby, it's hard being away. He has enjoyed competing in PGF and commissioner Brandon McCaghren. Shawn coaches in Hudson, NH anyone wanting to train with the best go to Precision Jiu Jitsu https://precisionjiujitsunh.com Check out his Instagram page, http://www.instagram.com/shawnmelanson160/ to learn and laugh!

Connor Returns

He trains, teaches class, beats that ass, pounds it vigorously into the ground after, Crown Sports & Entertainment CEO and Expert MMA analyst Tyler King is here for the MMA report. Starting off hot as we get into the Boxing Championship battle where champion Oleksandr Usyk beat Rico Verhoeven on a controversial ref stoppage with one second to go in the 11th round. Tyler said Usyk did knock down Verhoeven, it looked like he slipped and fell over the ropes to me. Regardless, he was given a standing 8 count, checked by the ring doctor and allowed to continue. Usyk came at Verhoeven hard at the end of the round, but I didn't see him take a ton of damage. Tyler was furious the fight was stopped; he also disagreed with many of the score cards. We discussed Conner McGregor returning to UFC and Jake Paul commenting that announcing his return when Francis Ngannou was walking out shows Dana is afraid of MVP promotions. The King responded by saying cool story, that is how the fight game works, its all business. Tyler was correct, all people were talking or tweeting about was McGregor and that's what UFC wanted. We argue over Connor and how he will fare fighting Max Holloway in a few weeks. The guy has been through several lawsuits, was about to make a run for President in Ireland, hasn't won a fight since 2020 against an aging Donald Cerrone. Tyler said a motivated Connor will be a problem, he is only 37 years old, it feels like he's 44. Tyler said he is more than capable of going on another run. I said it doesn't matter, UFC can put him on any fight, it will sell out, draw viewers, that's what matters. We go over ESPNs power rankings for each weight class, Tyler makes a few picks for UFC fight night Saturday, and we talk more about the White House card. Tyler said it has star power, two championship battles, overall, a great card. My point to him was UFC has billions of dollars, pull the brinks truck up to Jon Jones and they should have got him. I said only because the casual fans know and want to see him. Tyler responded saying Jones has so much going on outside UFC, he doesn't need to fight, nor the money.

Kiss The RING

He trains, he can teach class, then he will beat your ass, followed by pounding it into the ground after, Crown Sport And Entertainment's CEO Tyler King talks the MMA Report. Tyler has quite a bit of gloating to do, he was near perfect in is picks for UFC 328, and he lets us all know it. From the prelims, picking Jim Miller to win, setting a record for submissions in UFC, to Sean Strickland in the main event becoming new champion, the King was almost flawless. Jim Miller, Grant Dawson were his prelim winners, I did not see Miller coming and Tyler could from a mile away. On the main card, King Green put Tyler off to a great start, and with a great performance, he can see him looking at a title shot soon. On fire, Tyler picked all the winners from there. Sean Brady, one of his favorites, followed by Alexander Volkov in the Heavyweight division. I picked against Tyler here because I thought Cortes-Acosta was excellent in his last match-up and with new Heavyweights needed, I expected him to rise fast. As Tyler replied to me, Volkov said cool story bro, and kicked the crap out of Cortes-Acosta. In the semi-main event, Tyler was spot on with Joshua Van retaining his Flyweight title, including if a finish occurred, it would be in the 5th round. Right on both. We witnessed a new champion crowned, as Tyler was happy to remind everyone, he said Sean Strickland would get his Championship Belt back. Also, controversy during weigh ins that I did not know about. Khamzat looked to have missed weight, however the athletic commission in Jersey announced he did, despite the scale still moving. Many UFC fighters want digital scales to be used, and Khamzat is notorious for struggling to cut weight. This one was even more, since he had to drop 46 pounds after plans changed. Tyler also supported Strickland in his post-fight speech apologizing for taking his comments too far. We discussed top MMA reporter Ariel Helwani being unmoved, Tyler is not shy about sharing his thoughts. We debate Ronda Rousey, Tyler picks against her this weekend. We dispute and argue over concussions. Tyler is a top MMA analyst and kiss the ring!

Arguments/UFC 328 Predictions

He trains, he teaches class, he beats that ass, and then pounds you into the ground after, Crown Sports And Entertainment CEO Tyler King [https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-cully-ny/#] returns for the MMA Report. The show starts with a bang, as Tyler and I have a heated argument about UFC Fight Night from Saturday. It was in Australia and started around 5am, we planned to do a watch a long as he gave tips on how to bet on each fight. Unfortunately, my alarm didn't go off, Tyler was in Texas for a wedding, stayed up so we could record, and was not happy with me. It's my own fault; I should have set two alarms. We go over the show from Saturday, Tyler picked winners accurately for most of the fights. I bet a few parlays for him, since it is not allowed in Texas. Beneil Dariush losing was Tyler's only blemish. He loves Carlos Prates, as he defeated Jack Della Maddalena, former Welterweight champion. Tyler thinks Prates will be next for a title shot. Ultimate Fighting Championship [https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-cully-ny/#] 328 is this weekend, Tyler breaks down each match-up, offers his expert analysis and insight on who will be victorious. We argue more about the main event, Sean Strickland always has something to say, Tyler knows self-promotion is important, he thinks Chimaev will retain his Middleweight title, but Strickland winning will not surprise him.' In a memorable episode, Tyler and I continue to argue, over Ronda Rousey, the White House card, WWE releasing wrestlers. If you want to see epic rants and both of us dropping haymakers, watch, enjoy.

Shawn Melanson/Tyler King Meeting of the Minds

We have the best show, with two brilliant forces coming together. Shawn Melanson. Jiu Jitsu star, coach at Precision gym in Hudson, NH. Then we have a man that all he does is train, teach class, beat that ass, then pound it vigorously into the ground after, Crown Sports & Entertainment CEO Tyler King. Tremendous entertainment combined with outstanding information for anyone wanting to learn the art of Jiu Jitsu. Tyler and Shawn coming together will break the internet on the MMA Report! We recap Shawn’s matches in the final week of the PGF regular season and it was a masterclass. Listening to Shawn breakdown each critical moments in his 3 Fights was incredible. Tyler providing his expert insight and analysis was key because the best podcast host in the universe was asking some dumb questions early on. Tyler took the reins, his interview with Shawn blew mine away and he was able to explain to our audience the intricacies I was missing. Shawn gives us a special look into his mindset as we watched his fights. Explains everything he is doing and reasons behind it, during his only loss in 5 weeks, he goes over exactly where he made a critical mistake. Shawn also talks us through the fight he won and why he was able to lock on an arm bar so quickly. Shawn qualified for the playoffs and he is definitely no easy win. Almost making it though PGFs entire season without a loss. Even more fascinating, this was Shawn’s first defeat by submission in 5 years. The best of the best and Tyler did great hosting, asking good questions, since he is a fighter, Tyler made a huge difference because he talked with Shawn about a lot of things fans of Jiu Jitsu want to know. This was a special episode and we are going to keep working to make Shawn a regular on the MMA Report! Having a family with a baby, Shawn has enjoyed his time with PGF, and it is a 6 week grind. I think Shawn is a veteran with leadership qualities, many guys look to him and his input has an impact. He is an amazing talent, consummate professional, who will continue to succeed. Not shy about sharing his opinions, and Shawn wants to grow Jiu Jitsu.
